I am just kind of curious if they will be comparable to an ipod touch/smartphone, etc? I only ask because I had a smartphone but once it got the gingerbread update, it became useless (lots of bugs such as crashing, deleting my pics, with no help from the manufacturer when I contacted them) and I sold it. I recently bought a 3ds and while it does have an OK browser, it certainly is not comparable to an actual multimedia device. Some pages won't load correct, slower, and other things. I have no plans in getting another smartphone but wonder if I should fork over the cash to get an itouch or one of the android samsung mp3 players, or just wait and maybe the vita will be comparable? I have a good laptop, but alas, sometimes a smaller little handheld device is much more convienent in this area!

Ahh I see...well...guess after the advice I'll just play the waiting game and see what happens! Maybe wait at least until black friday and see if any retailers mark it down at all! Hah! Thanks!

Since the price drop I have been teetering on the idea of picking up a 3ds. Looking at Amazon reviews, I am concerned of the quality of the device. Typically from my previous nintendo purchases, I've experienced nothing but rock solid quality ontheir products (mostly the non portable consoles). Could I get some (hopefully unbiased) advice in that regard? Anybody who has bought it and experienced significant issues?

Keep in mind, she's not very good, and definitely a casual gamer. I'm thinking of getting something more than the wii sports/play type stuff, like an actual game game. Genres that are definitely off limits- FPS Hack and slash Most sports games I realize that doesn't leave a whole lot, but we've been playing new super mario bros for the wii and I've pretty much carried her the whole way. I'm thinking mario kart, but other than that I'm not having much luck. Anyone with any random suggestions would be appreciated! Systems at our disposal- the wii for current systems and ps2 and gamecube for older ones.
