He's not saying take all violence out of games. The point of his statements is that violence is being touted as something fun. Violence in art, as some of the people that defend violent games like to call it, isn't meant to be fun and cool looking. Violence is necessary in a lot of video games. Ultra violence refers to the needless excess of unrealistic violence that has become a trend in games. The violence should evoke a negative response. The problem isn't violence in general in video games, it's the sadistic nonsense that is exploding heads and dismemberment. Regardless of what gamers seem to want to think; sadism is in fact a bad thing.
