They should have made this an open world free roaming game, exploring the environments searching for the Pokemon would have been a much more rewarding experience. Having it on rails will surely limit it's replay value and longevity.

As soon as I saw who wrote this article I disregarded everything I had just read. This guy has no credibility after some of the abysmal reviews he has released. I will play the game myself and decide if it's worthy or not.

@Bilal100: Because they are fun, they are built out of love for gaming rather than the hope of making millions of dollars, and because they have unique and interesting ideas and gameplay mechanics. Most AAA games are boring as sin these days, filled with bugs day one, along with micro-transactions because the publishers just aren't rich enough. Give me a quality interesting indie game any day over an incomplete buggy 'AAA' modern money grab.

I have no trust in this reviewer after his awful Crash Bandicoot review, will definitely listen to other critics on this one.

@MAXAM999: The Switch is a home console AND a handheld. That's kinda the point, regardless of how you 'see' it.

If they put the slide jump into the first game all the jumping problems with that game would be solved. But I would prefer it if they made Crash handle the same as he does in 2 and 3, he just doesn't jump far enough in 1.

One thing I dont understand is people always moaning about the gameplay being dated. It's a platformer, you run, jump, and attack enemies. Rayman Origins/Legends are simple 2D platformers where you run, jump and attack enemies yet no one ever complained about their gameplay being dated, so why does Crash get flak for it?

@cantcatchzoom: I'm certainly not a fanboy :) if I thought the Xbox was the better console I would definitely back it. I still use it for the odd exclusive though, and it lets me play older titles such as the Perfect Dark 360 Remaster.

@cantcatchzoom: PS4 uses a totally different UI to PS3. Have you even used them both? Saying things like 'community is better', 'UI is not easy to navigate' etc doesnt make them true statements. PS4 has a larger install base, online games die faster on Xbox. THAT is a fact, and I have evidence to back it up:

http://bf1stats.com/

At the time of writing BF1 has 54,199 people online on PS4 compared to 20,579 on Xbox. Smaller community = harder to find good games = games die faster. Also, going by your earlier statement how are those 20,579 people on Xbox better than the PS4 players?

@dreadborne: The UI on the PS4 is a million times better than XOne, super simple to use, and nice to look at. The controller is my all time favourite controller, its not perfect but its super comfortable and all the buttons are easy to reach and use. The only downside is its battery life sucks. The PS network isnt unstable, ive played hours and hours of Battlefield 1 and other games online and never had any problems with my connection.

You seem very close minded bashing indies and Japanese games so broadly. It wasnt so long ago that Western developed games were considered far inferior to Japanese produced titles, and some of the greatest games out there are 'indies', Resogun for example is probably my most played title on PS4. I would much rather have access to a vast array of games that are big and small, & cover a large variety of genres, rather than be limited to shooters and racing games.

Having said that Xbox has a few awesome smaller (multiplaform) games too, such as Ori and the Blind Forest, Limbo, Inside, Unravel, and the Shantae series.
