Thats insightful Tom, but don't they have the right to distribute their IP in a more .. varied form.. In not only Games, but other media like Comic books, or animated series ..(would love to see that) Charging us extra seems unfair.. but at the end, they do think about profits. If only this is handled in a better way. Take Arkham for example.. Between the two games (Arkham Assylum and Arkham City) there was a series of novels. The story was amazingly written introducing Hugo Strange and how he started out Arkham City.. Playing the game without reading these novels didn't put you too out of the box.
As gamers, we all know that the game is nothing like the trailers that they show. It's nothing new to us now.. Nor does it worry us.. or deceive us in any way. And I don't really think the game devs expect us judge a game by it's trailer.. It's just a marketing hype where competing studios show their might in showcasing awesome cgi.
A good software power up is what Sony needs, the hardware of the PS3 is still pretty powerful. This is the right time to launch the X box+. With the next generation Kinect support, the new X box would be just kick ass !! The current gen games on these platforms are outstanding visually, I'm really waiting to see what the next generation has to offer.
A ban on creativity is bad.. but has prevailed ever since artists have first used their brushes.. It's sad to hear abt the ban, but is not like there something EA can do abt it..
