Yes that cpu will bottleneck that 970 to the point in many cases that you will only get half the performance as you should.

Switch the cpu to at least a FX 8 series, change motherboard, case, get a better psu and gpu like GTX 760 or AMD 280.

nearly the same price as yours better overall balance and quality.

8320

Motherboard

PSU

Case

GTX 760

Base on the info that you gave me, I created this: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/khainguyen97/saved/3Qrtt6

If I build one like that, can the GPU work at full speed without overclocking the CPU?

BTW, can AMD FX-6200 3.8GHz 6-Core live together with Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II?

I want to build a gaming pc. I want to know if my cpu will bottleneck my gpu or vice versa.

This is the specs of my future gaming pc

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/khainguyen97/saved/hZVbt6

Please take a look and answer the question above, and give me some suggestions for my future pc. :D

P/S: I want to keep the price around $600-$650 (without counting the mail-in rebate)

Thanks
