The problem for many fans who are sick of having every game feel like the same action game we have more than enough of, is that this isn't an rpg anymore. The original mechanics were fundamental to the enjoyment for a sizable portion of the fanbase. Now it's a button masher that largely plays itself because square knows gaming tastes have changed and apparently we cant have turn based combat anymore. Now we have a mindless KH game. The core series died after 10 and hasn't been the same since.
So basically they turned a venerable turn based JRPG series that allowed full control over your party and all the JRPG trappings, and turned it into a mashy action game ala kingdom hearts, where things are run on AI. This has been the lazy sloppy trend the Japanese developers have taken to avoid looking "dated" to western fans who view turn based mechanics as dated, which is ridiculous. It's a form of play, we already have mostly action based RPG's. What a slap to the face of the real fans who supported this series all these years. Pathetic. Nothing about this gameplay sounds like a proper core final fantasy game.
Naughty Dog previously said The Last of Us: Remastered will run in 4K natively on the PS4, but it will be locked at 30 FPS. The game will also be playable at 60 FPS on PS4 Pro, but selecting this option limits the game's display resolution to 1080p.
What a joke.
I will buy one because I have avoided buying a ps4 or xbox one so far, and thank god I did. I am someone who intends to buy 4k movies, so scorpio having the player is an instant buy. It's pathetic the company behind the format won't even strand behind it. 4k streaming is bandwidth murder, and it tends to look worse than when played from physical media, just like 1080p in fact.
It's so sad, and a bit ironic, that the silent hill series didn't get the credit it deserved as it served as one of the primary inspirations for the western horror games that have been made in recent years that this current resident evil takes inspiration from. Not only that but silent hill 4, the room, got mediocre reviews but essentially was an early version of P.T. which seems to have inspired this and other horror games as well.
The series is wasted at konami and they should be ashamed that everyone else is picking up the torch that silent hill carried. I also detect a hint of the original blair witch project. This is pretty neat, I admit, it's just a shame that a new proper silent hill, the king of horror video games isn't being made. Also if people want to know where *some* of the ideas or specific aesthetics for this flavor of the hillbilly zombie family came from, it seems to have been partially inspired by an old, and largely regarded as one of the grossest and best x-files episodes called "home". Look it up, you will see the similarities. I noticed it right away.
