Very true and have good paying jobs in my case. You can pick up some nice smaller HD tvs for pretty cheap.
One thing i could see potentially if they launch an hd-dvd 360 is devs putting it in both formats. Like the days where games for pcs were on cds and you could buy the dvd version. So instead of getting ur game on 3 disks and u have this "ultimate" model you could buy the hd-dvd version instead.
If this new sku is true this could eleviate the issue for them without ticking everyone off. I think they would then start to phase out the dvd models and replacing them with the hd-dvd as standard. Yes people would complain but at least if this goes down this way no one is left out other than someone has multiple disks and the other doesn't.
[QUOTE="Platearmor_6"]60fps in high??You must be running some GTX in SLI??I'm running everything on high in DX 9 mode with 40-60fps just fine. I don't understand where people seem to think this game is badly optimised. They seem to think they can compare Crysis and Call of Duty 4 on performance wise. People just don't seem to understand what is going on inside the game, Crysis looks amazing and the visuals are overall very crisp. The game remains smooth even when looking out over a majority of a level that is swarming with enemies and various objects that are ready to be knocked about in real time by your bullets, grenades and so on. You just can't expect it to perform as good as a corridor crawler, regardless of good optimisation.

You don't need SLI GTXs to run the game on high. I get around the same performance of 40-60fps and im playing on High at 1680x1050. The game ran smooth as can be except in a couple spots. But 99% of the game it ran very well. If i had vista installed i probably would have tested the water with some very high settings
[QUOTE="karmageddon2k4"]I think i will install the game in XP right now and see how it performs. In bechmarks i didnt see much of a difference but you never know.OMG no you hit 25fps sometimes. Their engine renders soo much that it's not surprising to have that happen.
I played the game at 1680x1050 on High with no AA for the entire game and towards the end of the game i'd sometimes get slow downs. For the majority of the game it ran smooth as can be. When i did some checking with fraps i was getting 50fps but sometimes it would drop to the 30s. But but the game puts a huge strain on systems for the game to look good and play well.
Yes i got noticeable slow downs in certain areas but those were pretty insane moments. Yes it is normal to slow down at times depending on what you are doing but i don't see how the game is a joke b/c your computer can't run uber smooth and never slow down. the game is fair superior to other games out in what it does so saying ya well my other games run silky smooth means squat b/c they aren't doing the same level of detail and field depth. Be happy you can play it.

I found i get better performance in XP. My friend how has nearly an identical machine but runs vista 64bit differs from my xp performance by a few FPS and at a slightly lower resolution than me. You may see better results in XP. But i know the game runs really well on my machine. I was able to hold a solid 25-30fps at 1280x1024 all High and 16xAA

COD4 and UT3 are nothing alike in style. There is a fair bit of skill required to be good at UT3 but it is run, jump shoot, dodge, jump in a vehicle do some carnage. If you want a cod4 style game UT3 isn't it.
Sniper rifles are good in UT3 and when you are good you'll see their use.
If you want a fast paced arena like game UT3 fits the bill. The levels are pretty big this time around and it's a lot of fun.
I would bet it's the games you've installed. That's the one thing i really dislike about the ps3 everything has to install. I have the 60gb model and i've lost 10gb or so and i only own 6 games. If you goto game data i believe it's called you'll see all the datafiles for your games. Most are probably several gigabytes each.
Knowing that space will be a concern later on i think maybe i should go and buy the biggest hdd i can find. If i had the collection i do on the 360 i'd be out of space ages ago lol
