I mean, there crazy expencive. I wish i had one myself, as I would really love to sink my teeth into some MGS4 and FFXIII etc....

However I dont really have a TV that is PS3 worthy, and I was wondering how you guys scored yourseleves such nice teles.

Dont say work for it, cus i dont have that oportunity, only 16 im affraid. I mean I could work, but that would take me about 3 years to save up for the TV, without a PS3 :S.

So, whats your secret?

I can't afford an HDtv however, I'm looking up on the computer monitor use. According to my research, an HDCP Compliant monitors can run up to 720p. Cheap also..

I don't know if they have Costco's where you live, but you can get a Vizio HDTV for about $600 US. That's a real good price for anybody looking to buy a HDTV.Esp. if your on a tight budget. I'm older than you are, and me being a working professional.allowed meto spend $2200 US for my 46" Samsung. But don't fret man! Just hook up a Vizio to your PS3 and join gaming bliss 8)

The majority of us are probably older gamers. I am 29 and got mine a year ago. I would suggest gettinga part time job and save as much as you can (I know it will take a while, but everytime you save.. you are getting closer and closer to that tv). Hopefully your parents will give in eventually and purchase an HDtv. Also if you start working, make a deal with your parents... you come up with half and they come up with the other?? sounds good to me..

You can't just expect an HDTV to be given to you. And you don't wanna work because 'it will take to long to earn the money'? JOIN THE CLUB. Everybody has to work! Its life. Now quit whining, go get a job, and make it like the rest of us did.

I made $5.75 an hour when I was 16 working Produce at a grocery store. I pulled in close to $400 every other week. I had a car payment, insurance, and cellphone to worry about too....I still managed to get toys. If you have no responsibility at all, You could have a heck of a nice TV in 2 months time.

One more thing. How rapidly do the prices of HDTV drop?

Yeah, I had my HDTV long before PS3 ever came out. And my girlfriend has an even nicer TV that her brother gave her. Neither is 1080P but really, it's not that important. Like the previous poster said, a lot of us are much older. We have jobs. We have credit cards. LOL!

It all depends on the supply and demand of the market.

You really think those folks who wash your car, make you food, clean up after you, etc. make 2k a month? I don't think so.

And those people make up the entire population? I think not. Besides I don't get my car washed, I own a hose.

My secret is I'm 31, went to college, make decent money and I saved up for a nice tv and a PS3. Oh I think the fact that I'm not married is a factor ;)... wives and kids tend to be a drain on the wallet heheh. I have the 60gb PS3 ($600) and a 32 inch samsung LCD HDTV ($800). I highly recommend samsung if you are looking for an LCD tv, they look great and got great reviews on consumer reports. Dont worry though, the PS3 will only continue to drop i price each year.... end of 2008 it'll probably be $299, end of 2009 it'll probably be $199. By those times there will be tons of games to choose from and many will probably be discounted greatest hits titles.

Agree, I couldn't afford this stuff when I was 16 either. Don't worry about it. By the time you reach college age, you should be able to afford it and you will be shopping for OLED TV's for your PS4.

guys - here in Australia a 42" can set you back about $3000. Its tough. Im not whining, im just looking for a shortcut I geus. A variation of whining I supose.

Im just trying to get it in a few months for MGS4, remembering that i would have to buy the PS3 as well.

Maybe il wait till about July then get both, as surly at least the TV will be cheaper.

I've seen some decent 32" - 37"ones of late for less than $2000 at like JB and what not. By the way, I'm 16 as well in MelbourneI got a job for the summer and have earned $800 + money from christmas really boosted my bank account. Obviously though going out and buying certain things means I havent saved all of it but right now if I wanted to I could buy a HDTV, thing is though I'm not fussed about it and dont want to blow all my money. I'm happy with my PS3 on my SDTV
