Oooops yes, FX60 is a dual core. FX62 is the AM2 version and a 2.8GHz part. I was thinking of FX57...

It's amazing how some things can be put out of perspective. I believe Gamespot reviewers put the core2 against an overclocked FX60 because in single application environments (like present day games) a single core cpu can outperform a dual core. Even if you believe the comparison it's unfair, look at anandtech review with an FX62. The point about AM2 being newer, using DDR2, etc, is not an issue because as everybody knows the performance gains of AM2 processors over the previous generation are marginal. I also don't remember earing of a new chip from AMD in the near future, Intel has Quad core chips ready to debut early next year, but has I stated before, current generation games don't benefit with multicore architectures if you only play the game (it only improves your performance if you use other apps at the same time). The next gen chip from AMD is allready out there the AM2 and core2 is much better. This is the fact. If you want something else from AMD (they have more to come) you'll have to wait around a year...
