Publishers have a rights to protect their IP. However, there are some forms of DRM, I will just not put up with. If there are limits on the number of installs or something that makes me go online more than once to activate (or more burdensom measures), I just will do without the game. When publishers use particularly aggressive or deceptive copy schemes like Sony's rootkit or the EA's DRM on Spore, I just don't buy from them at all.
