Interesting... I loved the ending, as I loved every single moment of the game and will dickride anything Naughty Dog ever comes up with again, but it'll be cool to see how they were planning on breaking everyone's heart before changing the ending... also, that's obviously Marlene guys... http://thelastofus.wikia.com/wiki/Marlene

@horizonwriter @jaifrecap Hit the nail on the head with that one; it's just part of the writing process..

@jaifrecap That's a bad interpretation if I've ever seen one... The ending fit perfectly with what Joeal was going through at the time, and just because they changed the ending doesn't mean you can assume they did it just to set a sequel up. If Naughty Dog want to they can make any kind of sequel to this game and it doesn't need to have been set up (which in my eyes unless you're stretching what «set up» means does not apply).

@BamaGoatt @brokenapples For me the gameplay ending was extremely satisfying... *SPOILERS*

The whole time I was slaughtering the firefly soldiersI felt bad for it but as always the action is so visceral that it urged me on and you can really feel what Joel is going through. In a moment of madness I murdered all three doctors operating on Ellie, and then when you're running with her in your arms, which strikes an obvious but touching parallel with the prologue... Idk man I see your point in that you would've enjoyed killing Marlene yourself but the whole game, encluding the firefly sequence was so satisfying (while not exactly being *enjoyable* to play) that I can't complain.

Of course Ubisoft would come up with bull excuses like this... just because you guys (and forgive me here for the use of the expression but it suits Ubi and what they've done to AC perfectly) milk the shit out of your succesful franchises while putting inovative gameplay in the backseat doesn't mean everyone is as conservative and greedy as you!

The list pretty much sums it up, these are pretty much the games that will define the generation and be warmly remembered while also inciting discussion in the years to come, but on the other hand the one title I have to disagree with is Skyrim... I mean, it sucked you in for hours on end and was a hell of a lot of fun to play but does that mean it's the Game of the Genereation? Not at all, that game was hardly GOTY the year it came out. I would've liked to see maybe AC Brotherhood or Dark Souls make the cut. Also, I'm very happy for Ken Levine and the folks at IG for having two entirely deserving games make the list, I'm a huge fan of both!

@LuIsSiUl @jonnybutler11 lol... Wait, so do games need at least a 9.0 (editors choice) to even be elligible to become a GOTY nominee? Seems kind of arbitrary and unfair.

This game and Bioshock Infinite are the first two games I've ever been anitcipating the DLC release for. I think the battle for GOTY will be fought out between Burial at Sea and whatever Naughty dog announce for The Last of Us. Can't wait!

So Eddie,
1 - What platforms is the beta on?
2 - What gamers were given the code, and how? How may I get my hands on a beta code?
