@Entropy730Good point, but just to clarify the semantics << LINK REMOVED >> is right, any belief in a supernatural being, wether it's God or Ganesh or the tooth fairy, requires religion, a religious belief or faith, which in this case are interchangeable terms
@SavoyPrime Well, this is exactly the kind of thinking that these developers are denouncing, and I don't see anything wrong with that. "Games are supposed to be fun" is not an ideal motto if you expect the medium to be considered as an art form, and this doesn't require at all the extinction of purely "fun" games, nor does it mean that every mature game will have a modern-day setting. Many forms of art, such as literature or films, can explore mature and interesting themes from a fantastical setting like sci-fi, fantasy or magic realism.
@aceventura2000 yes, because you can play battlefield in a stealthy way and splinter cell in a run'n gun way if you wanted, it's like bieng both an introvert and an extrovert for different games, which isn't wrong, just unusual
@pathosfire @Innos007666 @MJ12-Conspiracy well, "internet" is the keyword there. There a thing called "vocal minority", as in only people who are really angry about something go to the trouble of complaining on the forums. Personally, I thought it was the best ending I've ever experienced in a video game
While it's probably the case that video games don't induce violent behavior, a very interesting follow-up question would be to ask if and how much video games desensitize people to real acts of violence which, in my opinion, could actually be the case
