Well maybe it's ignorance, but it just seems to me every time I go searching for anything interent related, it's ALWAYS the router that's the problem. In fact in searching for my problem I didn't see hardly anybody with my problem, but ran into 1000x router problems.

This is simply one less thing to be messed up. No passwords to forget, nothing.

Not my fault that windows sucks big donkey balls. Seems as though Windows 7 wouldn't set a default gateway for my ps3/360. Manually entering in the same one as my net access gave this second connection net access. Haven't tried it yet, but inside windows 7 it says it's fine.

So we'll see. Of course AFTER I lost my 5 gold from not working the 30th day in a row in eRepublik. 4 times in a row at 28-29 days before something gets screwed up on my computer.

Not neccessariy. That's one more thing that can go wrong. Dual lan on a motherboard connected to a single modem is probably the easiest. Just most motherboards don't have 2 lans, thus necessitating routers.

I just downloaded the new realtek lan drivers and I'll see how that works.

Yes they do, that's what I did when I had my ps3 connected up through the same way but on win xp. Internet connection sharing.

But when I enable that here on win 7, it doesn't allow ps3 to have net access/psn

So it isn't where anything is connected up wrong. It's a software/windows issue. There must be some combo of thing to hit, but for whatever reason neither the obvious routes nor the diagnose or have windows fix it approach is solving it.

Hi I just got a new computer, with win 7, and my computer won't let my ps3 have internet access

I remembered having some problems with xp, but got it to work, enabled ICS, and maybe another thing or two.

But now this is Win 7. I've tried to

I have a dual lan motherboard (just like the last computer). What I do is I have one of the lines connected to the modem, and my ps3/360 on the other lan connection. Like I said above on xp, enable ICS, and maybe another thing or two, and voila I'd be able to get internet access and connect to psn.

I've tried both lan's, as in using each one for the one that connects to the internet, and the other one to the ps3 and then switching the two so the each one is trying it the other way.

The strange thing is, both ways will allow me to stream to my ps3. So it's not like it's not connecting. It's just not letting my ps3 have any internet access or connect to psn.

I've tried what appears to be every conceivable diagnose and repair windows thingy. I've shut off firewall, etc.

Again this is a WIRED connection, not going through router at all.
