There is a huge article about Bully (made by rockstar) freezing and RRODing ol launch 360's. This is a huge problem that rockstar oversaw because they were testing the game on newer hardware. GTAIV is also made by rockstar and is using the same type of new 360 hardware to test it on. Im just worried they might have to delay this game to fix some problems due to the old 360 systems so they don't repeat the Bully effect.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249455

I hope this doesnt delay the ps3 version as well.

blackace

This is a problem with the Bully game, not the 360 hardware. Get your facts straight. The 360 hardware only change was a cooler CPU and some heat_sink cooper tubing added to keep the 360 cooler. Now of that would effect Rockstars game in a negative way. This is just BAD PROGRAMMING on Rockstars part. I'm sure GTA IV is already done for the 360. They are still completing the PS3 version. All the early screens and video of GTA IV was from the XBox 360 version and it was running smooth as butter with no issues. So please stop making up bogus articles about delays caused by the XBox 360. We don't need anymore trolls on these forums.

I'd like to point out Rockstar didn't handle the port.
It was Mad Doc, I only know this by reading the posts on the TC's source too, kind of shot himself in the foot there.

i call bs. the games themselves dont cause RRoD. overheating does.

and anyway, didnt they delay the game from its original release BECAUSE of the ps3?

killerkane246

actually they do. When gears of war came out it pushed the system to its limits. After that game launched the highest number of RROD 360's that were sent back to microsoft were reported sice its launch.

Hey, that makes perfect sense.
What with there being no games on the 360 pushing the 360 further since!

You don't surpose that perhaps, when Gears released with amazing sales the amount people played their 360's rocketed up in the short term, thus causing more to break?

[QUOTE="tmntPunchout"]When friends first saw my PS3, they just said " you're rich.. " or something along those lines. People I guess are easily impressed by materialistic shiny things. Wierd ehh?nogginkl

Women, through evolution are taught to go for guys that can provide food, shelter, etc. for her. In this day and age, material goods can signify to a girl how well the guy can provide for her. It's in her DNA.

She'd probably stray away from you because you have a strange obsession with Blu Ray and would only neglect her.

A more likely PS3 scenario is this:

Girl: Hey, that's one of the those PS3's, right?

You: Of course you stupid child, it has the power of the Blu Ray!

Girl: Erm, ok... do you want to play a game or something?

You: Negative, we will watch one of many fantastic Blu Ray movies and you will see the crisp, crisp picture quality, afterwards you will be so impressed you will give yourself to me!

Girl: I'm going to go now...

You: But, bu.. the Blu Ray!!1 :(

Actually, it's more likely you'd knock herself out with the PS3 in a dark alley as you probably couldn't get her into your house otherwise, but you never know.

By that logic any game over 5.0 is an AAAA (rounded up of course).

[QUOTE="DXGreat1_HGL"]Why are cows even attempting to argue? 360 = the COMPLETE version ofthe game. That's 100%, therefore it's better /argument /threadHydrolex

Heavnly sword had 10GB of sound ! 10GB Only SOUNDDDDDD. GTA IV = Compressed for 360 = LOL PWNED

Mass Effect:
Best Original Music (2007)
Best Voice Acting (2007)

Both awards given to a DVD game on the 360, what exactly is so great about that 10GB of sound when it didn't beat Mass Effect to those awards?

its funny because all the fan boys bash the ps3 for blu-ray not being needed, but its clearly going to be a HUGE advantage when games like GT5 and FFXIII come out. look at LO and blue dragon on the 360 both have multiple disks, Mass Effects main story is the shortest ive ever seen in a RPG, and new ips like LA noire are not even possible on the 360 because of disk space. If gears of war 2 dosnt look alot better then gears one, the 360willbemaxed out sadly

Soulja_West

It's really funny that you used Lost Odyssey, a game that I get more playtime from just one disc than I can from games like Motorstorm, RFOM, HS and Uncharted in their entirety. That example defeats the purpose of Blu-ray.

ok im using it as an example because itsa multiple disk game, if it were on the ps3 it would be a one disk game thats the only point i was making.

No you weren't. You were trying to convey PS3's "Superior" disc size when there is absolutely no excuse for its array of 10 hour games. Which makes all those superiority claims moot!

Its the developers fault. They have the disc space, they just need to take advantage of it. Right now, no one is really taking advantage of it.

The developers don't need to take advantage of that space, they're making plenty of AAA's on DVD's at the moment.
If developers were filling up Blu Ray discs for the hell of it you'd get higher development costs along with a ton of sloppy filler content, when a game can justify the use of Blu Ray I'll look into getting a PS3 again, but I don't see this happening this generation.

i think i herd this awhile ago, i know DMC4 and burnout has the ps3 as the lead platform and they are being ported over to the 360,

mattyomo99

Oh yeah, I forgot about DMC4 being better on PS3 according to some sources. The difference there is that the Developers aren't saying it's better, it's just been noticed.

Criterion actually is telling people what's up with their latest game.

The PS3 is powerful, but it's hard to develop for when compared to the 360, but it's nice to see some developers step up to the challenge.

The 360 has had a good run, but it seems like it topped out when Gear of War (Xmas 2006) hit. Of course, surprises are still waiting in the wings, because I think my 360 still has some juice left.

Gears 2 will be using the exact same engine as the original, I don't think it will looks leaps and bounds better but that doesn't mean the 360 has reached it's peak. As for Blu Ray, why couldn't LA Noire be done on multiple discs, it's not a big issue for the vast majority of gamers, after all cows were doing it with MGS and FF7/8/9.

Loved the original and can't wait to pick this one up.
I'm more excited for this than GTAIV to be honest, but both should be amazing games.

[QUOTE="jimbob9999"][QUOTE="hamidious"]Stupid Lems who say I lie, if you disbelieve me I wager you 100$ and I will prove it, but then most lems have small weenies and won't stand by their word. Second of all, it's not just fighting games. A game like PRO EVO soccer NEEDS the DPAD, but you ignorant lems don't know what it is since it is big outside the US you ignorant holes. Third of all SF3 is played on the PC using emulators.hamidious

Yes, it's not like there are any Xbox fans outside of the US, oh wait...

You might get reported for that last comment.

Apparently not since all those comments say that fighting games are all that you intensly need the DPAD for is fighting games.

What?
I was referring to this:
Third of all SF3 is played on the PC using emulators.hamidious

I don't think you're allowed to talk about that kind of stuff here, I'm not really sure how far the rule goes.
