I think that was just Square Enix's way of saying that there will never be a remake of FF7. They're never going to top the success of FF7 in a million years. SE, what will doom the series isn't a FF7 remake...it's the lackluster FF games you've been releasing lately. I think the only other game that could maybe match, if not top, the success of FF7 is a remake of FF6.
So, stop hoping for a FF7 remake, they've basically said it's not going to happen.
As a Christian, all I can say is this guy doesn't represent the majority of Christians. I'm willing to bet that there are Christian gamers(like me) who don't give a damn as long as the game's fun and simply ignore the things that 'offend'/make fun of Christians since it's fiction.
It seems to be increasingly okay to bash and make fun of Christians in our society, and games are certainly no exception to that, what with games where the enemy is with "The Church", and said fictional "Church" is modeled after Catholicism.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: movies also glorify guns and violence, and it's easier for kids to sneak into an R rated movie than it is for kids to buy M rated games without an adult. This is what you get when someone who's never played a game before and, therefore knows nothing about them, is in charge of making laws.
Senator, since the Supreme Court ruled that video games are protected under the First Amendment, Congress can't do anything without trampling all over the Constitution(which they do anyway). Also, violent games don't make people violent. If they did, I'd make my own Hidden Blade from Assassin's Creed and start stabbing people in the face, believing that they are Templars.
The Sandy Hook shooter had mental issues, as have every other shooter. Just because a shooter happened to so much as LOOK at a violent video game doesn't mean the game made them do it. Also, the movie industry isn't exactly innocent in the whole "glorifying guns" thing. Then again, Hollywood has lobbyists...
Hollywood also has a conflict of interest in the gun control debate. Or, instead of blaming guns/video games/whatever for gun violence, how about blaming the lunatics who do the shootings instead of scapegoating? I'm glad he's not my Senator.
