@DinoBuster now see Vampire Chronicle (the game you're referring to) is what they SHOULD'VE released (be it HD or not). After YEARS of telling myself i'd buy that (imported) game, i managed to get me an (inexpensive) used copy. Yes, despite the fact the Dreamcast was LOADED w/ fighting games, it's controller was less than average for such games. I bought a converter that let me used the Saturn Arcade stick by Ascii which to me is BY THE the BEST arcade stick to date (despite it's clickity clacky sounds).

@majere613 The characters missing are Huitzil, Pyron, and Donovon, all of which were just direct ports of their Night Warriors iteration. Vampire Savior (Arcade/Japan title) originally didn't have these "extra characters". The Vampire Savior release for (Japanese) Sega Saturn had these characters as part of the ready to go roster.

I think a port to the Wii would be the EASIEST port since graphically 3DS & Wii are on the same level. Based on current peripherals and how the game is played however, I think the PS3, and WiiU should be the likely candidates to get an upgraded port of this game. (tho, I'd honestly buy it for the Wii). AND WHERE THE HEEZY is a REmake of RE2, 3, AND RE:CV?!?!!?!?)

as for MY opinion....I understand what some gamers said, about how it's a new era and time for a change in the series...but, the thing is...it's Resident Evil, a game that became popularized for what it was...a slow-paced game that gave you a feeling of fear due to feeling powerless due to said instances above and things like lack of ammo and health. The game was the game that defined (not started) "survival horror"...it was a formula that worked....true, going back to a tank control scheme would be archaic, but it were those "horrible" camera angles that made you feel like "holy $hit, what's around the corner"...what scared you was what you couldn't see...and those awkward camera angles made you feel like you were being watched...the same way a horror would make you feel. I've played the demo of RE: Revelations and can't wait to play the full thing tomorrow...I think THAT was a step in the RIGHT direction, and I fully believe it's possible to have an updated style to Resident Evil and still be scary....honestly, if it were me, I'd ask the team of Capcom to make remakes of RE2, 3 and Code Veronica the same way they did w/ RE:1...I think if they wanted to make an action-induced game that had Zombies...they should've just did that instead

Another game that didn't score as high as I expected but was incredibly fun was the recently released Soul Calibur 5. So far, in the couple days of owning it, I've had a bunch of friends come over to play. It's fast, fun, flashy, and fanatic. The game IS significantly "deeper" and more complicated than previous incarnations due to the change in its fight system but when I compare it to say Soul Calibur 4, my friends and I on the whole have already spent more time playing it instead. Naturally I have my share of gripes already, most notably being the exchange of characters for newcomers of the same/similar move set.

A pretty valid editorial. to be honest, there really are games out there that receive incredibly low scores, but are still pretty capable of being played multiple times. Even w/ the fact that I may like the game, I also can't deny the flaws that exist. A good example IMO is Ju-On: The Grudge on Wii. It's not so much a game as it is a "haunted house simulator" as the box cover advertises. It's simple, you walk around w/ a flashlight and collect batteries or face death if your flashlight drains before finding the exit. Add in a small handful of quick-time events and you've got your "game". All in all, it's an INCREDIBLY shallow game, and the controls/camera go from too sensitive to not responsive at all. Yet, even w/ all the flaws going against it, I still felt compelled to play the game....and I play for the very reason that it's "survival horror" (my favorite genre) and it's actually scary. I really don't play for much more reason than that alone.
