@minecain I think Nintendo is trying to avoid the eventual, inevitable shutdown of online support for games. While I like playing online, it scares me to know that I am relying on a server to keep the leaderboards, play with friends, and access all the games content (DLC). They take a very conservative approach to try and avoid re-occurring fees like game rental or server maintenance cost. I hope they find a way to get good support for multiplayer. Perhaps donations, or proceeds from games.
