I'll take 900p or 912p all day long with the system with the best controller and online and better exclusives. I'll take this any day. The difference between 900p and 1080p is so slight you need a magnifying glass on a 60in plus TV to even see anything at all. Not to mention the scaler in the Xbox One is better and offers great upscaling and yes the scaler has been patched no more crushed blacks everything is smooth and crisp with vibrant colors. And for added measure the sound chip in the Xbox One is better then PS4. So add all this up I'll take this over 1080p any day.

@itormentu: Nice so just ignore the evidence i've given then, lol your DC really is no good.

Anyway there's often errors on store pages, they probably haven't a clue about the res just like with the Watchdogs debacle. Either way it'll still run better than the Xbox just like all the other multiplats.

It was not a debacle it was Sony once again getting caught lying. Sony posted Watched Dogs to be at 1080p so they could get some cheap press and gain an upper hand in sales for PS and Watch Dogs for PS4 they even knew they would get caught but they wanted to get the press and buzz for PS.

Sony has resorted to cheap tactics and total lies this entire gen for sales. Not surprising at all though Sony is broke and hanging by a thread of chapter 11 so they have resorted to these cheap tactics.

An error on the footnote of a store page? That's got nothing on this:

The above wasn't even the first time, Major Nelson tweeted out MGS5 was exclusive lol, you're quick to forget they claimed Kinect had to be plugged in for the console to function, that it was essential to the experience, that DRM couldn't just be turned off "like flicking a switch" (they treated Angry Joe like shit over that and never even apologised despite Major Nelson even acknowledging it), fibs on the dedicated servers front as they're absent from even MS backed titles like DR3 and KI, porky's on the esRAM's peak bandwidth, adding up bandwidths to give a fake advantage over the PS4, their reasoning behind which countries were picked for tier 2, caught backing youtube channels when the sponsorship wasn't made public, claimed it had sold out when it hadn't, Penello's embarrassments on Neogaf trying to spin console power figures with lies and oh, what the hell happened to MS' every Xbox is a dev kit thing? Looks dead in the water atm.

Oh and also the padding of it's lineup by claiming titles were coming in 2014 when they weren't (i fell for this and bought the damn thing off it) like Halo 5.

You need to break your delusions buddy, give the Jimquisition a watch:

The Xbox One: A Lying Failure Machine

Also what's with the alt? Did your last account get banned?

Forza 5, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Over Drive, Halo 5, Halo Collection, Quantum Break, Gears Of War, Fable Legends, >>>>>> Remaster indiestation 4

It's a goddamned shame that Microsoft blew its technological lead from the last generation - Last Light had 1152x640 framebuffer on PS3 (1280x672 on 360) - but also allowed Sony not only to catch up but also overtake in technological department. What were they thinking?

I will say this MS clearly thought that the public was still in the WII casual phase and they slightly underestimated the public demand for hardcore power. Clearly MS can afford to of put better hardware in the Xbox One. Regardless the Xbox One is a great system it has the better exclusives thus far and 900p games look really good anyway and most are 1080p now on Xbox One.

With this said I expect this gen to be much shorter then the PS3/360 and think we will see a 4-5 year cycle max this gen. MS will not make the same mistake again and they fully realize that power means more to buyers now. I expect the next Xbox to launch in 4-5 years and I also expect it to be a powerhouse of a system and they will make a special point to crush PS5 in power and really flex some serious money and power in the next Xbox.

Although we still have an X factor at play if Tiled Resources take off like MS think then the Xbox One will perform better in this over PS4 being it was designed better for this.

...and it's 912p as confirmed by this Eurogamer article by Digital Foundry:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-vs-metro-redux

The original plan was to ship it at 900p, but in the meantime there has been a SDK update which, I guess, was not enough to boost the res to full 1080p, but it's cool (nudge nudge, wink, wink) that they squeezed 12p! ;)

So I guess the new standard for Bone from now on won't be 792p but 912p. Full HD is now just 168p away!!!

You do realize at the end of the article it actually says the Xbox has and better shimmering effect so apparently the Xbox has the better imagine quality like mostly with all games.

""The biggest difference comes from the level of 'shimmer' generated by post-processed smoothed-off geometry - this is marginally more noticeable on Xbox One."

Lol that's not a positive, it's not a shimmering "effect", it's a side effect from the post processing like how you get artifacts and such with other process.

Also the Xbox has consistently had worse image quality in the vast majority of games, not sure where you've gotten the idea contrary to that especially in this game as the image is objectively better in the PS4 version because of the higher res.

Actually not true at all most games even at a higher resolution on PS4 when it's 900p vs 1080p the Xbox One has shown to have the better image quality and better detailed textures. games Like AC Black Flag, BF4 and Thief all had better image on Xbox One. The difference between 900p and 1080p is so slight it makes no difference really at all but if you have a game with better detailed textures then even at 900p it looks better then a game at 1080p with less detailed textures.

Wow you're trolling right?

DF:

"In motion, it's the Xbox One version that suffers from the greater temporal aliasing - a flicker artefact on thin geometry and power-lines while panning - but also a general muddying of enemy outlines on the horizon. A post-process anti-aliasing method is in place for both versions, but it's simply not enough to pull the Microsoft release out of the muggy mire as far as image quality goes - it stands as a real shame."

"Put simply, the assets and effects are identical for each next-gen platform, but the added pixel definition on PS4 spares it from the distracting edge-crawl on thin objects that proves to be an issue on the Microsoft side."

Same textures, better image quality on the PS4 and if you really enjoy crushed blacks and off colours then you can adjust your TV to get exactly the same experience that Xbone users are stuck with because of the sharpening filter anyway.

MS patched the scaler chip in the Xbox One like 6 freaking months ago no more crushed blacks or issues try again. Oh by the way can't wait to see the damage control on this one. http://gamingbolt.com/assassins-creed-unity-may-run-at-720p-on-the-ps4
