[QUOTE="ilton45"]These are the ones off the top of my head that I want : MGS4, Batama: AA, Little Big Planet, or maybe Killzone 2.Sword-Demon
those are all amazing choices, you cant go wrong. but Batman doesnt have much replayability. ive had it for a week and ive done everything there is to do (spectacular game though) MGS4 has decent replayability since you can take different routes, use different tactics and set different goals for yourself. LBP has good replayability with its community levels, and KZ2 has its online (which is a blast). so for your 1st game, i'd go with LBP or KZ2.

I think i'm going to go with LBP just because I have someone to always play with in person, and I hear that makes it really fun, and the GOTY edition comes out next week so I'll get that. I think I'll wait till batman is either cheaper new, or until i find it used for a fair price. Thanks everyone for the input.

if u loved mgs2, then u will adore mgs4, as for coming back, umm, well they have 30 diff emblems that u can achieve, it has online, its hard to say, do u like baseball? mlb the show 09 rules, killzone 2 is great, great online, resistance 2 is great, uncharted, Russia917
The thing about online games is that to get good, and really enjoy them it takes time, and I dont know if I have that much time

I loved MGS2, but is MGS4 a game that will make you want to come back?

I'm buying a PS3 within the next week, and there are a few games that I want, but I'm only buying one and maybe a dowloadble game. These are the ones off the top of my head that I want : MGS4, Batama: AA, Little Big Planet, or maybe Killzone 2.

I don't really know of any good downloadable games so if you can reccomend one that would be cool.

My criteria is basically a game that has replayability. As of now, I'm a casual gamer as I have very hard classes this year and spend most of my time studying, so I'm not looking to buy a game that is going to drain my time, but I still want one that is still fun after I beat it.

So if you guys can reccomend something that would be cool.

[QUOTE="lowkey254"]

People who rate games are professionals. They are paid to critique every aspect of the game, things that we wouldn't evenpay attention to.

Nocturnal15

They are not professionals. They are paid,over-analytical opinion givers. Simple as that.

I agree. I think they judge way too harshly for some games.

Which game has actually helped you in a real life situation, or has given you some advice?

[QUOTE="Avenger1324"]What kind of person would sit for 8 hours a day in front of a computer monitor, 5 days a week doing the same repetitive button bashing and not really getting any satisfaction out of it? Oh wait, that's called a regular job Playing a video game is no more or less a waste of time than reading a book, watching a film, going for a walk or countless other things. If it's something you do for pleasure then enjoy it, if you don't then find something else that you can enjoy. There are far worse things a person can do with their time and money than spend both playing a video game.

I disagree with part of what you're saying. Reading a book, depending on what you read, is really not a waste of time. I'm guessing you're either younger and think you know everything, or are older and hate your life. You're awfully defensive.

now dont go getting all defensive here because i play tons of video games myself.. all im asking is for everyone to take a step back and look at it from another perspective, especially those with like 80,000 gs. do you think that playing video games are a waste of time and money?? when you're on your death bed will you think (wow most of my life was spent on my couch in front of my TV playing video games..) or how about when you have a family and are in debt.. will you think (man if i didnt spend thousands on video games i wouldnt be here)

imlolmon

I used to be a pretty hardcore gamer, meaning I spent most of the day everyday playing. Now as I have gotten older I play very casually. I could go two weeks without playing and not feel like I need or really care, but sometimes I do have that urge and I play for a couple hours. My view on this is that it is a waste of time if it is all you do, like WOW players. There a lot of things to do in life that are much more satisfying and healthy, yes playing games isn't very healthy if you do it obssesively. For one thing, spending that much time sitting down or laying down isn't good for your body, and then there's yours eyes, they will pay the price eventually, just like with people that spend most of their time on a computer. You do pay the price.

But really most people aren't going to admit they play too much, just like an alcoholic won't admit he or she drinks too much. I'm not trying to judge because like I said I used to play way too much. Seriously there are a lot of things that are just as fun if not more fun to do with your time than playing video games. I'm not saying people should stop, but just take it down a notch. I like the saying "There is such thing as too much of a good thing." I feel like that applies to many of the "good" things in life. Like I said I'm not judjing but rather just giving my insight.

Also I'm sure some of the people who read this are going to say,"What's one thing that's more fun than video games?", well I can't speak for the world but one suggestion is picking up an instrument, believe it or not it's 1000x times more satisfying the rock band or guitar hero. Then there is socializing with live people, that's always fun. Another thing I do that I find satisfying is working out. Most people can benefit from working out. Just my opinion.
