@gamefreak215jd A GTX660 is more than capable of running an ENB.
Realvision is actually one of the performance friendly ENBs out there that makes the game look realistic; likewise with Project ENB and a few others (the most popular ENBs are actually some of the more performance friendly ones).
There are some even more incredible ENBs that target enthusiast level will drill your machine. Like this one for instance: http://www.deadendthrills.com/forum/discussion/75/enb-preset-kyo-s-tesv-skyrim-enbs
You can always go to steam and select "Browse game files" instead of going through the folders and making a shortct. OR you can do it though a mod manager, too.
On thing you're missing is implementing ENBoost settings in your enblocal.ini. This is pretty important for older enbs that stopped support for more recent ENB binaries.
Have a read here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38649/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D38649%26preview%3D&pUp=1
In your enblocal.ini ensure you have:
[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512
VideoMemorySizeMb=0
AutodetectVideoMemorySize=true
Or you can input your VRAM manually and remove the last option. Using a 2GB VRAM video card as an example
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512
VideoMemorySizeMb=1920
Oh and ELFX > RLO :P, ELFX is more compatible with alot of ENBs that use their own lighting systems.
Also you should try switch over to LOOT, it's the successor to BOSS. But BOSS still works fine.
@forkandplate Alot of the popular ENB mods are performance friendly. You should be good with a GTX770. You can always tweak the ENB settings to your liking to gain performance too.
Also, Countdowns are pretty important. Calling out that you're using/doing something in 3, 2, 1, will give you time and preparation for your co-op partners to co-ordinate and react to what you're doing.
1. Call out when you're low on health or in trouble so that your parters can respond. Dont just say I am dead. It's too late and that's not really helpful.
2. (FPS related) Call out when you're reloading. Pretty simple. Some games do it for you. But your friends' voice recognition helps.
3. Co-ordinate what you're shooting or targeting. Be neat and logical about it and develop standards. Example, in an FPS, If there's 2 of you, one shoots left to right and the other shoots right to left.
4. (MMO/MOBA related] Call out your skills, particularly your CCs and ultis.
5. Keep your communication clean while you're in the heat of the moment, never say "OMG DAT HEADSHOTZ or I crit someone for 999" or w/e in the middle of combat
6. (PC related) Use a proper push-to-talk key that's not a key that does something annoyingly spammable in game. Change your push to talk if you have to
7. Tell someone that you're going AFK and approximate when you'll be coming back
8. Call out danger. The location of a threat or opportunities to take advantage of. Dont just shout "BEHIND". Give numbers, what it is and a point of reference (eg. 3rd floor, right buttress, valley, river, road etc) for direction.
A modded Skyrim is a MASSIVE VRAM hog, probably one of the biggest video RAM hogs you'll play for awhile. 2GB VRAM is cutting it fine if you're aiming for a 2k texture + ENB baseline.
I dont know what else there is to cover for part 3.
Subsurface Scattering isnt really commonly found in settings. About everything else is beyond what consumer really needs to know. Maybe particles, bloom or adaptation.
