"A typical film tends to be fairly short, and Parasite Eve, in keeping with its cinematic inclinations, is no exception. Expect to finish the game all the way through in no more than 15 hours."

Ratchet and Clank is the best-looking game on any console right now, in my opinion. It's probably the most stressful on the PS3 as well.

As for Uncharted's art design; man, for hyping up the bluray crap it's probably one of the most redundant and unvaried games I have ever played.

Good thing I just rented it, I can't see me playing through it more than once.

your a lucky one, but be worried, like ms admitted every unit has faulty hardware...ticking time bomb, buddy.cool_guy2000
uh, just to clear this up but: every console is a ticking time bomb, including your PS3. It's called the second law of thermodynamics, my friend.

Personally I bought an Xbox 360 on launch, never had any trouble until January and then I had to package it up and send it off. The console I received in return has been running since the day I got it.

I bought a PS3 in November (Black Friday sell with 10 blurays) and it has been subject to random lock-ups during the update method and using the internet browser. It hasn't died, but, needless to say, I'm a bit worried. On top of that, over HDMI my HDTV blinks on and off every now and then; less since I did the PS3 firmware update (and I've used other HDMI products on my HDTV with no problem). The system certainly isn't god-like, and I'd imagine as better games come out we'll start seeing more PS3 problems as well.

I agree somewhat. I recently purchased a PS3 and it isn't anywhere near as loud. Putting my hand to PS3's exhaust fan and then next to the 360's, you can really tell that the 360 is running much hotter than it should. Disc reads are much quieter too.

However, if we're including the 360's "built-in" software, like Xbox live, I disagree. I definitely prefer Xbox live over the network which keeps online servers up at a price of $50 a year(nothing in comparison to what you pay for MMOs). See MGS: 3 Subsistence as an example.

I do feel that the PS3 is much more flexible, and, believe it or not, less expensive when accessories are taken into the equation. Just plug the wireless controller up to the USB and charge it. I don't have to stop playing, I don't have to buy a separate accessory.

but on the ugliness scale, the PS3 definitely wins the most ugly console of all time award, or whatever. Feels a lot heavier too.

Can I open that flat screen monitor and throw a 8800 GTX in it?

Or am i gonna have to buy a new overpriced machine everytime I want a simple PC upgrade?

Exactly: Macs may be great if you are rich and lack the intelligence to build your own PC.

Good. Have fun with your viruses, whist no one cares about us.SolidSnake35
Courtesy of a small user base! Although, I haven't gotten a single virus in the past two years. I just don't like restricting myself to a pre-built.

I suggest you play something that requires less intelligence--like Gears of War or Unreal Tournament 3. Maybe even Crysis if you are into that sort of game.

That's also why people need to stop acting like GOTY this year is a one-man race featuring Mario Galaxy. Crysis is certainly way up there.Zeliard9
Also keep in mind that SMG has a 98 on metacritic with more reviews than Crysis--which has a 93.

Hopefully the visual pleasure provided by Crysis will dissipate come time to choose GOTY, though.

Isn't Crysis supposedly superior to Halo in every way? Which would make Halo not an option.sexy_chimp

Well, let's put it this way: Halo 3 has a higher overall Metacritic and Gamerankings score than Crysis (last I checked). Maybe it is superior, but Halo 3 still has a chance.

Orange Box should be replaced with Halo 3. The games, rated separately, do not have as high of a review score on metacritic and gamerankings than Halo 3. Yes, that means Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Half-life 2 Episode 2 have a lower score than Halo 3. And don't forget to add World in Conflict, as it is a 9.5 AAA.

Personally I think this is a push poll.
