" a free upgrade" are you completely retarded or do you genuinely believe that microsoft would put thousands of hours into building an operating system that they plan on giving away?

wait for 6 months after release to get a better price and see how compatible the system really is, not to mention you can save up for upgrades while waiting the 6 months +

no matter what console you buy or build it will never be as good as a pc, AND it will NEVER cost as much as a pc...so after debating for the last several years, the facts boil down to "you get what you pay for" AND THAT"S WHY I ALWAYS GAME ON MY PC!!!

oh and i forgot.....my 8800 gtx plays everything (except Crysis) on maxed out settings so screw upgrading AGAIN this year. No other game on the market needs more power than the 8800 anyway, so why bother....unless you are an enthusiast like someone else stated!

this is absolutely incredible...almost 8 months have passed since crysis first shocked the world with its graphics and here is gamespot STILL demonstrating that crysis is the most visually complex game every created, i'm so glad i have seen it on very high settings, and screw playing it like that, low or medium still blows away every game on the market. and for all those console loving 'tards: NO CONSOLE with ever rival a PC and this is my quoted evidence: "The PC still has its greatest advantage, a steady stream of new CPUs and GPUs that ensure that the PC platform's computational power is ALWAYS several generations ahead of the consoles" as stated in the first paragraph of this topic! -----------so grow up and buy a real gaming machine!!!!!

pugkiller: are you serious?!?! if the every component of a gaming pc cost only 100 bucks, you would still spend over $800 and you would be no better off than buying the POS that is on sale at your local comp store. To help you understand more of what a gaming pc should cost consider the facts from my experience: ATI 1950Pro GPU (out of box demo) for $200 500 WATT Power Suppy (yeah, a cheapy) $125 ASUS mobo (any good one) at least $100 2GB of RAM $75 Processor?!? HAHAHAHAH! show me a good one for less than $200 and that's not enough to fill the case that you also have to buy or any other accessories including a monitor that is worth a damn (mine is a samsung 22inch...the best at the time) $400! All in all, you are looking at a minimum of a grand to have a computer worth calling a gaming PC, and that only if you have good connections or are a thrifty shopper like me :)
