Is it just me, or is it now getting to the point that even their employees can't trust game developers now?

I find myself liking Mr. Persson a lot more now. Indie companies are at least bringing some initiative and creativity to the industry, instead of releasing the same old rubbish with a new coat of paint every year.

@boosey36 I wonder how many of those IPs they bought and which ones they created themselves, hm?

More optimistic than arrogant I think.

RE 5 wasn't very good, it was a bit of a step backwards in the series I think. Street Fighter on the other hand... hot sauce, man. Hot sauce.

Liking how Square are leaving the PC fans in the cold for two and a half months, and also unceremoniously dropping three people who have been with the franchise since day 1. David Bateson. the voice of 47, the music maestro Jesper Kyd and the voice of 47's handler Diana Burnwood, done by Vivienne McKee.

Also some of the plot points that have been confirmed for the game are a bit stupid. One of the early missions has you killing Diana! http://www.siliconera.com/2012/01/18/hitman-absolution-isnt-a-reboot-but-not-part-of-the-series-timeline-either/

I mean come on, Square, if you're going to try to milk a franchise you've bought, at least stay true to the f***ing previous games, man.

If Microsoft decide to release their hardware a year earlier again, and more or less refuse to fix the consequent problems for years like they did with the 360, I can't imagine they'd survive one more generation. From a purely nostalgia P.O.V I wouldn't want Nintendo to drop out, and from a fan-boy perspective I would prefer Sony to stay for another one.

Apparently the only thing that's really worth putting to the top (assuming your card and monitor can do it) is resolution. There's no really noticable differences in quality above x4 AA and AF. Draw distance obviously looks a heck of a lot better at 100%, but it still look somewhat cool at 0% in my opinion and I could only see shadows really making a difference in a game that needs it either for atmosphere or a game mechanic, for example Splinter Cell or RE.

I don't really see the problem... Fine it's taking a while to get released, but it also gives Sony an extra few months to sort out any kinks in the system, and Europeans also get to know what it's like by the reaction from the Americans and Japanese to the console. Also, to those commenting on costs, ALL companys make a loss on any hardware they sell, aiming to make a profit on any peripherals that you need for the hardware, for example, video games for consoles or film for cameras (obviously not working as well because of the digital revolution in photography), so the Blu-Ray techonology is worth more than the $600/£425 price tag. It also raises the question of how much the 360 costs to produce, given the price tag of games for that. Unless Mr. Gates is being his same old self and just wanting to milk poor sucke... I mean consumers of everything they have. Capitalism, the most wonderful ever!
