@imajinn: an old system with an i3 and GTX 660 is still more powerful. I like my PS4, for the $400 I paid for it I think it's a nice piece of tech, and it has some cool games that will never come to PC, but people are crazy if they think access to another core of that weak CPU is going to make a drastic difference.
@Jinzo_111887: yes, but what's your point? That one can implement an awkward control scheme no one would ever use because it's terrible? I can switch the touch pads if I want as well and play while balancing on my head looking at my TV in a mirror but I'd rather not.
@guydude3412: I used mine extensively for a week and tried many adjustments and refinements. I now only use it for RTS games, which it works OK with, but use a DualShock 4 with my Steam Link for everything else. Personally I think it's a big miss. It needs dual analog sticks, and the right touchpad needs to be far, far more precise (it's floaty and inconsistent). The buttons are also very difficult to work with given where the right touch pad is, making games that rely on quickly accessing those buttons a pain (like the Tell Tale adventure games during QTE's, for example). Sure, one can remap the buttons to the triggers, but they shouldn't have to.
@PortalJumper93: Phil Spencer was a major executive during the development and launch of Xbox One. The DRM always online fiasco, disappointing specs, decision to not be competitive outside of North America and the UK, Kinect 2, etc. He was a major decision maker during all of it. So it's odd that you're jumping to the conclusion that he will lead Microsoft onwards to some glamorous victory next gen.
And besides, all he said was "this won't be our last console". How does that equate at all with what you're suggesting?
@spartanx169x: adoption of 4K TV's will drive what's in the consoles in regards to resolution. If the market still hasn't moved onto 4K in a few years then I wouldn't expect the console owners to invest in tech capable of pushing 4K (beyond mere video playback, that is).
I can't wait until the SJ-warrioring fad dies already. These people are an impediment to creativity and creation and a drain on discourse at this point.
@Samslayer: I came to mention that. I've had my fill of the game, but for anyone who hasn't played it yet and wants to, a discount on the Taken King package is going to be their best bet for the foreseeable future.
