I don't get why anyone would write an online guide if no one's supposed to use it? What was the purpose of writing the guide?
This ring you speak of, did you come across it without any help from the community?
With regards to deaths, point being, deaths shouldn't be caused by obfuscation. That's cheap. Dying because you're poor at combat is a whole different thing.
This title is deliberately obtuse needlessly, is all he's saying. Why? To add some sort of mystique to the whole process? It's cheap.
That alone might not warrant a score of 5, but he's got a point.
And if this obtuseness is balanced out by the online mode's hints, then they need to make that clear when marketing/etc the game. They also need to be clear about other aspects, eg, some bosses/objectives, eg kalameet's tail, clearly aren't designed for single player. They also shouldn't penalize those who call for help, say by the reducing the amount of souls gained from a battle. Though that is balanced out by being able to acquire souls by helping others yourself, it is not immediately apparent, no? etc etc
My personal experience, I had ds1 sitting, gathering dust for near 2 years as I found the whole ordeal ridiculous. Eventually I decided to resort to online help; wikis etc. I ended up with a platinum in it, including that damned tail solo, which shows how much I enjoyed the experience (I still have my complaints, obviously!). This though would have been impossible without the online help.
Now I'm going through ds2 in online mode, clear difference.Much more reasonable experience. There's quite a lot there one simply cannot know without some sort of assistance.
Then of course other niggly issues with this title, eg the tracking. The lack of balance, with magic based characters being simply overpowered. The far too obscure lore, etc etc
Still not a 5, clearly, but by no means flawless, as many fans would have us believe.....
No, but they should at least explain why it's not perfect. It seems whimsical and a tad too subjective otherwise. They're saying the game excels all around, but we're not giving it a 10 because... What?
You don't like the genre? Or the colors? You think the it's unoriginal? Just because? It's technically perfect, so where did it fall short? etc etc
People should know what to expect in a suda game by now. Sadly that's a problem, as it implies he's bereft of ideas, but to whine about the sexuality is a bit silly
