Does the story in this not hold up as well as the story within Mortal Kombat? The way Netherrealm worked in each character and had a overarching story in MK was great. That was a draw for me to this game, but for the people that played this, is that similar story component not there?
@COPMAN221ISBACK All those people complaining it's not free becuase you need a Gold account... that's like saying "League of Legends isn't free cause you have to buy a computer." It's an uncharged additional add-on.
Of the 4 "stages" within the game, the Tokyo streets series is the only one different than Dirt 3. I think these game modes could be fun, but Dirt 3 may be a better legit racer. This just looks like mayhem fun.
Portal 2 was phenomenal, and HAS to be mentioned in any GOTY talk. I liked how these three lists each had a different vibe to them and looked at different aspects of what make games great.
@Ovirew I agree that there were many great games that were made for PS2 ten years ago, I think the goal for play testing is to eliminate all the stinkers. As it stands now only the big budget games get play tested - that's why the stinkers are still being made, companies don't bother wasting time on them at all. Ideally every game would be a legitimate hit and be proven so through play testing... although I think we all know that will never be the case.
The facebook achievements are kind of a gimmick for Gamespot... we'll see if I actually do those. What if we're already following some games covered at E3... do those count for the gladiator achievements?
I think the DMR looks just as good as the BR, but the BR in Halo 3 was way better (as it should be). I like how everyone has it's little subtle differences... it shows the design team put some actual thought into each.
A great year for gaming in general, summed up mostly from these photos. It'd be awesome if the companies sold like little statues or figurines like the ones in the pics.
