So - is movie reviewing the new direction?? It is sad, Gamespot, but you have too obviously become a corporate toady. No one trusts or believes your reviews, your news stories are just ads, and you lost any clear idea of what the real gaming nation is into about four years ago -maybe you stopped caring too. i don't even think I can believe your news about or reviews on new movies feeling that money changed hands so that reporting /reviews would go a specific way. There always comes point where you can fool none of the people none of the time.

It has been so sad watching the franchise fall so low. One has to wonder why they abandoned the formula that made AC1. Ac2 and all of its sequels so playable and successful. Then they cared about story and character and if what you were doing in the game was fun or not. Now it seems they have lost all employees with any imagination and creativity in game making. Why they wasted so much time and money on graphics that may be nice but certainly don't improve the game play is beyond me. And are game testers today just toadies who don't give any honest opinions of the games they test? Or maybe Ubisoft doesn't want to hear honest opinions and only use testers to find bugs now. Well, some of the bugs. . . But Ubisoft is not alone in that.

Today it feels like the only future of gaming is the internet and only the internet. I have never found multiplayer fun but this looks like the only type of game anyone is making now. Is this how games are going to evolve? My friends and I have gamed from the early 90s too when there were games of all types for all people. But now all we find is multiplayer, and that usually means FPS. In these games you have to continually get out the credit card to buy that special weapon or the lastest game world add on. Already there are games you can't finish unless you have an I-phone to download content or friends to complete online only parts with you. I have a friend who loves stealth games. He's troubled about the future. So is my friend who loves RPGs. I like games that need a little brain work to solve. We all have played GTA online and were not impressed. None of us have bought a next gen system or plan to buy one.

Games are no longer made because someone had a great creative idea but because they have seen how much money you can milk from players online. How many times you can charge people for internet access to be able to play games - are we at three times now??. And if the games themselves are mediocre, ugly or unimaginative - well that will always assure the widest group of players to milk because your average teen gamer will call those games perfect - no cheat codes needed! Make a game too challenging or unusual now and you lose too much audience. Online multiplayer only games no matter how crappy solve the audience problem well. Story isn't really needed anymore and the only challenge required is to give the player the choice of weaponry & transportation (that are never really new these days) and enemies (or friends) to kill. Oh, some kind of background. And as far as game makers are concerned, if you find these games boring or repetitive, well - there must be something wrong with you.

Internet gaming eats you up! What can anyone expect but ever escalating violence? You can only shoot your friend with a howitzer so many times before it gets to be a drag. Maybe game companies should start contacting serial killers to find new and more creative ways to kill because it is getting dull out there and it is all about the violence, right??

This game looks interesting - it's nice that I - as a 360 gamer - will have at least one more autumn to look forward to a new AC game. The graphics of next gen consoles haven't proven to me that they are that much better and I have no interest in multi-player gaming so I won't be changing my console yet. I've been feeling crapped on, like no one was interested in we single game players since multi-player only gaming is the new trend. Hope this means more to come or at least development for the next gen consoles of some single player games. In Rogue I sure hope we get to see Haytham Kenway again - he is a character who has it all and it was too bad he was so under utilized in AC 3. Guess we will all see!

Sad disappointing game. Having to use a gun when I did not want to was a drag. This is not Call of Duty - or is it trying to be?? I was bugged by the amount of control Ubisoft maintained over my "free roaming play". You have to do the mission quest exactly they way they want it. You can only climb on certain things no matter how much they look like Edward should be able to climb them. The Map grows smaller and smaller each game - this one the smallest yet. The cities have no story relevance like they did in AC2 or even AC3. The only reason to explore them is to find money or quests. The hunting is a drag especially when attacked - and the use of a gun as first weapon is not AC to me. Edward is likeable and I did like the naval warfare, but the missions and the story were dull and unsatisfying. Would they be fun if I was twelve?? Maybe. Multiplayer is boring - kill your friends or kill total strangers and it is a bore. I have not hear anyone anywhere talk about how the multiplayer was so fun for missions - no it is the killing that the fans of the Xbox One talk about - that and how they can watch TV and game at the same time. Not for me. But I can understand why Ubisoft would need to dumb down the game for such players. It looks to me like cheat codes, gun, friends to talk to via kinect and lots of "enemies" to kill is all that xbox one fans need and want - at leat as far as multiplayer goes. I will be sad if single player games stop being made, but sadder stillif Ubisoft lets a marvelous series fade to crap just to make money. The Assassins creed games started out as works of art and now are neither great gaming art or huge money makers and that is really sad.

So they spent tons more money and the combat, climbing and general game play in assassins creed three was the worst in the franchise - wow, the future looks grim to me.

@udubdawgz @Karl_Hummer @soulfulDAGGER Too late I think - Ubisoft wants a broader market. Look at how many idiots can't finish AC2 even now that it is free for the downloading.

@Don_Mattrick @Bumblebee1138 @ddoggbritt16 Wow, there really is nothing like a game that starts out pretty good with an excellent assassin (Haytham) which then dumps him after a an hour of game play and then proceeds to spend the remainder of the game with a big boring oaf who's goal is to kill the fun character from the beginning. I almost didn't finish AC3. And when I did it left such a rotten taste in my mouth that I am not expecting much from the franchise any more. I think I wil wait to buy this one till I hear word on the internet.
