@normanislost: haha I can have an Xbox and be a Halo fan without being a fanboy. It's okay to have different opinions. My opinion is that if you're new to the franchise and if you really like MP games, go with Halo 5 since it is the new product and the multiplayer is amazing and outdates prior Halos, not to mention the matchmaking is much better in Halo 5 also. Honestly there is no reason to go back and play past multiplayer from older Halos except for nostalgia. Also if he really likes MP I'm assuming he does if hes considering Halo, there is no reason to get proficient at the older games when the controls/style/gameplay is different in Halo 5.

@turianshepard: haha I've never assumed he liked MP games in any of my posts. They've all been phrased just as the one you quoted..."IF he likes multiplayer games..." That is not an assumption that was an IF statement.

Halo is the gold standard of competitive console FPS games in my opinion and in the opinion of millions of people. If you look at how Halo MP has revolutionized the gaming industry, seen the popularity and sales, all of the e-sports tournaments that have used different Halo games through the years, you can't really point to another game that can touch it in all aspects. Obviously COD has been a huge game, but it is not a purely competitive MP game in that the amount of time you play affects how good your perks, loadouts are. Sorry if that makes you mad.

@turianshepard: If he like multiplayer games, chances are he will like Halo since it is the FPS console gold standard. It makes plenty of sense, you just seem to be 12.

@turianshepard: Depends on why you're buying the game. If you're mostly a person who enjoys FPS and multiplayer, Halo 5 is a better purchase. If you're mostly into single-player then MCC is the right choice. There are other ways to find out about the story before playing Halo 5's single player. There's this beautiful thing called the internet that has websites like youtube and google that let you read and watch all the cutscenes and stories you need to know before playing anything, if you feel the need to do so.

@inmycontrol: You're doing it wrong if you're not liking it and you thought Destiny's story is better. If you only enjoy games that are the best graphics, why are you playing on console? Halo 5 is beautiful.
