I'm mostly into action/adventure, WRPG's and an occasional racing game.

Don't play fighting games, sports, any sort of rhythm/music based stuff, or motion control/casual games.

Jackc8

yes me too, although I played Skyward Sword with I would say is an action adventure and not a motion control game

In order to have time to play the genre I really enjoy like Action/adventure games, RPG's, sandbox games, horror games, FPS's, I don't play certain genre to leave my self time to really enjoy the games I like

here are the ones I dont play :

Racing games (used to but for past 10 years or so decided against it)
Fighting games (ditto, used to love fighting games in the SNES, PS1 era but now like racing game seem a bit pointless to me)
RTS's (never have, take up too much time, if I played these games I wouldnt have time for RPG's which I much prefer)
MMOs's (ditto)
Sports games (used to play the odd football game , not anymore)
Platfomers (used to, but not anymore, even greats like Mario Galaxy or LBP I dont play but if a little game that really catches my attention comes along like Braid or Limbo I will play the odd platformers)

its incredible for people with good appreciation of good game design and mechanics

its mediocre for the CoD playing crowd

Pedro

Yes it is I incredible for people who appreciate gimmicks, bad story telling, archaic graphics, sound and overly recycled levels.

you mean satisfying motion controls, sublime and timeless graphics, expertly designed dungeons

First off, don't ever trust reviews for any game. You are your own critic on any game you play. Only trust a review to see what the game is all about, not how they feel about it.

Second of all, as long as you are happy with it, great. However, AC: R is FAR from disapponting. It has flaws, like any AC game, but it's still a great game of its own right.

Metamania

Wel I alwasy trust the average score for games, a game doesnt have get 90 or above average score for me to purchase it, Enslaved, Fear 2, Metro 2033 all games I brought when their scores arent in that amazing categrory

as long as it creates an interesting world to be in, say if a horror game (which I love) got early mid 70's score's, I would possibly buy it as I love that genre

as regards to AC:R I didnt get at Xmas not just because of the score but because of the tower defense games and things that IMO aren't what AC games are all about

I was going to buy the latest Zelda game for Wii for Christmas but then I noticed; you need yet another gimmick, that MotionSensor Plus thingy. So I decided, should I buy Zelda + overpriced gimmick .... or should I buy a bunch of cheap games for the same price?

Very lame and I just feel turned off by having to set up another Wii product in my tiny room.

Pedro

I was the same, I really didnt want to buy the motion control add on thingy as it was gonna hassle,

But I just sold it for pretty much the same price i brought it for so it isnt really a problem in terms of price, only a slight annoyance tbh

Dont let that put you off, its incredible once you get past the first few hours whihc are painfully slow

The game is generally "incredible" for die hard Nintendo fans. For regular folks its good to mediocre.

its incredible for people with good appreciation of good game design and mechanics

its mediocre for the CoD playing crowd

Portal's obviously, and tetris are honorable mentions

thats why the art style is sooo important, Skyward Sword looks incredible, much like Wind Waker the graphics dont age whatsoever. its like playing a timeless ppiece of software

I think hardware can be quite irrelevant, Uncharted 3 is the best looking game last year accorindgly to alot of publications beating PC version of BF3 and The Witcher 2 in half GOTY graphics awards on 5/6 year old hardware

Miroku32

Agree. I was playing yesterday Wind Waker and thanks to the cell shading and art style the game didn't look old at all. SS seems to be like that too although I can't still find a way for like that game and right now is in my worst Zeldas ever played, close to Adventure of Link. Really need to find a way for like SS.

tis a real shame I ended up liking SS more than both WW (by only by a whisker) and TP by the completion

although finding Hyrule beneath the sea in WW is still my favourite moment in a Zelda game ever
