@Shinra_Tensei4 @pspearman @DemocraticTroll Nintendo was out before Sony. The Super Nintendo (2nd gen) tried to work with Sony to produce the Super Famicon which failed. Sony split off to make the PS1 instead. Point= Nintendo's console days still predate Sony's.

@Shango4 Nah, now you'll have people constantly asking for more and more level cap increases. :P

@Master_cheat001 You do realize that BL3 is most likely going to be yet another MMO right? RAID bosses with lockout timers and oftimes obscene levels of hitpoints that scream 'get a diverse party of players together', throwing in extra playable characters, etc. That and they have supposedly already claimed the name 'Borderworlds'. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/gearbox-trademarks-borderworlds

Personally, I prefer the current means of playing BL and am not looking forward to an MMO treatment of the series but to each their own I guess.

@pal_080 Antonick had a contract where he was entitled to royalties for the sale of the game using his design. If his claims are accurate in that EA continued to use his design for successive versions of the game, it means contractually he is entitled to royalties related to those sales, and EA is obligated to pay them. If anything is sketchy here, I think it's on the EA side of the house.

@gradyb Read the post from mrboone01 above you to get the perspective that alludes you. It's not about saving $5 for a new game, but waiting it out and getting a game at a good discount. Used games (and game rentals) also serve as a buffer for games that are complete shit. Aliens Colonial Marines is a great recent example of that. Publisher rushes out a half-assed game and charges full price for it. If consoles go the route of not allowing used games, how do you think that will affect not only resell value of games, but the return policy on games? I'm almost willing to bet that some retailers flat out won't accept games once they have been opened since they could have been played and would be deemed worthless. If the secondhand game blocking idea takes off, gamers are gonna get screwwed.

Bad ideas IMHO:
Retelling the origin, and re-retelling it. Consistency for crap's sake! You had Mathias (Leon's friend) in Lament of Innocence become Dracula and that was touted as 'the origin story'. Then you wipe the slate and introduce Gabriel in Lords of Shadow and declare that as 'the origin story' by the end of the game. How about make ONE definitive origin story?

[sarcasm] Also, thanks for breaking up the story across platform exclusives. I can't wait for the WTF moments in LoS2 when people wonder what happened between 1 and 2 and find out that was covered in a Nintendo 3DS title. [/sarcasm]

@asifah30 To be fair, Arbalon did preface that comment with a nod to Marvel (Deadpool), not DC (Batman).

I also noticed that there hasn't been any mention of the slowly growing trend of microtransactions within games. Games like "Shoot Many Robots", "Crimson Alliance", etc. A viable business model for devs, but freakin annoying for consumers.

Things not taken into consideration:lousy economy= not everyone is flush with expendable income to sink into new title sales

too many lackluster games and game clones out there

platforms causing strife- M$ changing their console UI almost annually, things like Sony's network security blunder- those kind of things can conceivably drive customers away

(feel free to glom onto this list)
