I should add that Bad Company 2 does not play out a whole lot different than MW2. I havent played BO yet, but I played both MW2 and Bad Co2. The same type of campers exist in both. In each one, you can run through any random building and expect someone to be camping in there. Bad Company 2 has a lot more sniping going on than most games as well. Try planting a crate when the walls are blown out. There will be so many sniper bullet tracers in your area that you'll think you just stepped into a giant spider web. Bad Co 2 also has certain maps that just seem designed for one side to get spawn camped (Rush mode usually). The Vehicles in Bad Co 2 dont seem to alleviate any of this. They just arent there in enough supply to make them much more of a factor. The choppers in some maps make it even easier to spawn camp a defending team. In my time with both MW2 and Bad Co 2, I found the gameplay to be very similar. There isnt enough Battlefield in Bad Co 2 to separate it from COD significantly.-ArchAngeL-777-
The amount of sniping was probably because of the number of people attracted to bullet drop and ballistics who wanted to be uber snipers, but sniping in BC2 is much harder than in COD which is why most BC2 wookies are useless.

I like both but BC2> BO imho

Black Ops is fun but the spawns are broken horrendously in MP, you can kill a guy playing on maps like Launch or Firing range and they'll spawn behind you, the knife is ridiculous and now it's like everyone has commando and there's been many of times in which someone has knifed me up a flight of stairsas I shot them multiple times in the chest. The PS3 version of BO is riddled with framerate issues and rubberbanding that it can be infuriating to die because of it in a game. The balance in BO is pretty nice but there are still gimped shotguns, obviously OP guns like the AK74U and Famas, etc. The campaign is entertaining but you barely play it since so much is scripted and cutscenes it's almost laughable.

BC2 doesn't offer as much content but what you get in MP requires more focus on teamwork and weapon handling whereas BO success is determined by clipping the hell out of people behind cover except for when they spawn behind you because of the aforementioned broken spawns. And if you're like me and really only care about playing against people then the extra content in BO will seem like little more than bells and whistles, I don't like shooting AI so zombies doesn't do much for me and a lot of the gun customization is frivolous and the different gun reticles can actually handicap you by hindering your vision. Now that DICE is releasing Harvest Day and Oasis that alone offered hundreds of hours of replay in BC1 this is really no contest and that's not even considering the Vietnam expansion.

They need more competitive and co-op maps, if you're of any kind of high rank those maps get old.

[QUOTE="gollum007"]Wow why don't we get any replies after a couple days? So many people on this board are lazy and don't want to help other people.Star650

The problem is some don't even look at the sticky threads or don't want to, right now there is a thread like this and is getting replays.

I'm trying to help others, but I need help as well I've had only one person even kinda address my question, and nobody has addressed my newest one.

Can anyone here tell me whether R2 or Fallout 3 are compatable with 1080i ? whip3512

I think R2's native resolution is 720p, but it may be higher than that and if not I think the PS3 will upscale it to 1080i.

God I wish I would have seen this post soon enough so I could have made that sale, damn!

But thanks anyway, :).

You can get the free demos by going to PSN shop then go to PS3 games, look for demos and any free ones will say free next to them, the latest free one I got was MGS4 two days ago.

Sorry you didn't make it to the sale. I found out Saturday that a lot of the things that were in store specials only actually were on the website anyway. I went to my Wal-Mart later Saturday and they still had a bunch of things left over and still on sale, but the three games they listed in the special were still marked as $30, so I'm not sure why that was... They were pretty busy and I wasn't interested in any of the games, so I didn't ask, but I thought it was kind of weird.

By the way, thanks for your recommendations, I got Little Big Planet and I'm loving it so far. I haven't had a lot of time to play, but so far it is exactly the type game I enjoy. So that was a big help.

Thanks for the info about the PSN after I got the PS3 I found the PSN and the game downloads, I thought I would have to go to the Platstation site like I did on my PSP, but it works great. I have 14 downloads ready to start for games I'm interested in but not sure if I will like them, so that will be a huge help.

Glad I could help ;).

I'm still broke and want a game and am so desperate I'm deciding between the first Resistance or UT3 for PS3. My question is whether or not people still play resistance fall of man online even though resistance 2 is out. Also is UT3's online community for PS3 as dead as I've been hearing? If not can I still find people online to play if I decide to get it? So basically my decision rests on which games online community is still lasting, on the one hand R1 will soon be lossing a lot of players because of R2, while UT3 doesn't have an announced sequel yet so its the newest Unreal Tournament experience but I heard its community is dead on PS3 and I don't have a high end graphics card so I can't get it on PC.

Hmm, you seem to shy away from the M-rated games as well as a lot of shooters, so normally I'd recommend Bioshock (can be scary as hell from what I played from the demo), or GTA IV, however since you don't really want those type of games (or atleast not right now) I'd recommend LBP if you are able to go online right now because I've played it at a friends house and the level creation is just ridiculous, it has a lot of replay value due to the ability to play and exchange user created levels on top of a pretty good single player experience, I can see this game still getting play for a few years. If you like Mario and Sonic why not try to replicate some of the levels from those franchises? Its possible with LBP, somebody recently imitated the first level of Gradius with one of their created levels. On the otherhand if you aren't going online anytime soon then I recommend Ratchet, if you've played any of the other games I'd definitely recommend to continue through the franchise, and once you finish it (and when you get online) you can get the 15 dollar continuation that is supposed to span the gap between ToD to the next Ratchet game, that too can hold you for a few hours in addition to ToD.

To everyone else I need some recommendations myself. Okay, I just got my PS3 (proud PSWII owner) and I don't have any games right now, so I've been surviving off free demos until I decide on what game to get. I can tell everyone that I want an FPS with online, so that eliminates Bioshock for right now. Also I'm limited on funds for atleast a little while so in order to pickup a 59.99 dollar game I'll have to wait a few more weeks, thing is I'm trying to decide which game I should get that is around 40-50 dollars that would still have a good online community. If I get something like the first Resistance I could have that and play single player so I could get R2 in a few weeks and know what the hell I'm doing, however I'm not sure how many people will still be playing that online now that R2 is out, so if I choose this will there still be a decent number of people still playing it? Or I could get Unreal Tournament III, same question applies though.

Secondly I've been thinking about which game I should get among 60 dollar games and I've narrowed it down to these:

1. R2 (If I do get Resistance Fall of Man)

2. Far Cry 2, the game looks badass especially with the map editor but I don't know how active the servers are.

3. Mirrors Edge, looks great and I've played the demo and would recommend it to PSP_DSL_ROX since he knows he doesn't really want a shooter, I on the otherhand do want one soon so I'm not sure.

4. COD WaW, I may get this game on PS3 for great online and graphics or on Wii if the motion controls are good and the online is atleast decent, if I go this route I'm pretty sure I could just get COD 4 for PS3 and still find plenty of people playing it online and get a desperately needed shooter for my wii that could hold me till the Conduit comes out.

I look forward to anyone's advice and I seriously need some because I can't keep playing the demos of Mirror Edge and Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway any longer or I'll go insane with frustration from not having a full fledge retail game.

Thanks for your reply. The more I think about it, the more I think I should stick to Little Big Planet or Ratchet and Clank. I like the looks of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, but think I need to look into the game a little more before actually deciding.

I do have one other question. How do you get the free demos? I always downloaded the demos from the PSP site when they would have them and that is how I decided on several games for it, but I can't find any for the PS3 on there. I would really like it if I could get some demos, it would make the decision on games a lot easier.

Also, I'm not going to be much help with your decision on games since I have never played any of these. However, I'm not sure if you know or not, but tomorrow Wal-Mart has Resistance for $20. Since you are not wanting to spent as much on it I thought it may help you out a little. Anyhow, this is the info: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=1026142

Thanks again for your help!

I am still trying to decide what game/games I should get when I get my PS3. I had some time tonight, so I looked into it a little more to see what may be of interest and this is what I came up with. I'm trying to keep the total amount spent to $60 (pre-tax) so this is what I have:

$20 games (could get up to 3)

Need for Speed Carbon

Juiced 2: Hot Imports

Motor Storm

I know I want to get a racing game, eventually, but I don't know if these are ones I would like. I'm also not sure if it is worth spending $60 on a racing game or not, but I do like the looks of Midnight Club - Los Angeles, so if it is worth it, I may just get that.

Resistance - Fall of Main (I've never really liked shooter games in the past and not sure if this is one I should get or not)

$30 (Either two of these games, or one of these and one $20 game)

Burnout Paradise (reviews are kind of iffy)

$40 (could get 1, plus a $20 game from above)

Ridge Racer (I'm not sure that this is really worth more than other games that are priced at $20 and I think it may be worth getting one I like better and spending the extra. )

$60 (Would only get one for now)

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (this seems like the type game I would normally go with, along the lines of my liking games like Mario, but a little more exciting)

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (It looks like it could be a really interesting game, but I'm not sure if the whole games is just shooting)

Little Big Planet (Again, like Ratchet a game I'm pretty sure I would like)

Silent Hill Homecoming (I love scary movies, but I'm not sure if this is a game I would like or not)

Dead Space (Again, not sure if it is my style)

Bio Shock (Looks interesting, but not sure if it is my style and I'm really not sure if I would like an FPS as it seems a little confusing since I'm normally playing games like Mario, Sonic, etc.)

Grand Theft Auto (this seems like it would be waaay out there for me, but it gets such good reviews I'm thinking maybe it is something I should be looking at)

This is the price range I really went out of my normal gaming genres, so I'm not sure if I should rethink this and maybe try some games I normally wouldn't get in a lower price to see if they are something I like.

Sorry for how long this is, but the more I look at games, the more confused I get. There are a lot of games available, but it just doesn't seem like there are many that fit my style.

Thanks so much!
