Ah so MS has discovered boosting their game numbers with show released side by side. Wonder why nobody gave a shit about Halo Infinite when the first and second season of the Halo show came out😆

Come on, bruh! Was a cheap shot necessary?

I agree 100 percent with the OP open world games are the most immersive games. There's nothing like cruising down a thruway in GTA and and hearing a great song on the radio. Especially if it matches the atomphere like for example. Driving through a desert era and hearing a horse with no name by Dewey Bunnell on the radio.

Here's a very good video about GTA open world immersion.

Ultra woke comment my guy. On the money.

It is by far the most immersive. But the issues is, literally 9.5/10 of open world games is 'capture 150 camps', 'free 70 npcs', 'collect 300 flowers', 'kill nameless mob X amount of times', 'use your Xray vision to find shovelware to gain 12XP', etc.

This is the extreme opposite of immersion.

Would you describe Ragnarok as open world? Semi open?

I see that open-world games get a lot of hate these days. I'm just like, what? Come on, you guys. The beauty of the open-world sandbox is the endless possibilities. You see that mountain over there? You can climb it. I feel like some of you have forgotten about the magic of open-world design.

Maybe the issue is people doing it sloppily and lazily.

When it's done well though? Nothing is as immersive.

It feels like there's this perception that the Japanese are somehow better at making games. I'm not sure if this is just pushed by the weebs, but it feels like some people believe this. Games get boosted for no reason other than being a Nintendo/JRPG/Anime/Eastern title.

Would you agree?

I got to mention Halo: CE and Halo 2.

Halo: CE revolutionized console FPS. It showed us what was possible. It introduced a fluid, smooth control system to the dual analog stick setup. The general consensus at the time was that it wasn't possible to bring a PC-like FPS experience to console. It couldn't be done, they said.

All console-based first-person shooters owe their thanks to Halo: CE.

The game also saved the XBOX console and put it on the map. Without Halo: CE, there'd be no XBOX. How many games can say that? Talk about shaking up an industry.

But we must not also forget about Halo 2. It introduced XBOX Live integration, online matchmaking, friends list, clan list, 1-50 ranking system. Simply put: XBOX Live was put on the map thanks to Halo 2. It set the standard for online console multiplayer gaming.

Say thank you Mr John Halo.

I can confirm: Halo Infinite is an absolutely sick game! It won GOTY. Need I say more?

Halo Infinite needs a visionary. A Steve Jobs. Someone who cares!

Halo will be fine. Just keep fixing Infinite as they did with the Master Chief Collection.

The key is to make sure the Halo Infinite sequel releases 100% completed. Release a battle royal mode. It should also have diverse biomes in the campaign. If they do open world as they did again, do it better. High-quality side quests that are important.
