PS3, or something that hasn't come out yet and that we don't know anything about...hmm. I can't really answer that. I doubt I will fork out the money on release, it probably won't have any games I really want. I'll wait until it's cheaper, there are less problems, and there are more games.

Honestly, I think it will be a decent game, but nothing special. No more than an 8 on here.

A lot of stores, both brick & mortar and online, sell old games at full RRP. I assume it is just because they don't care anymore. That is the only logical reason I could think of.

I can't speak for the early FFs, but since the PS1 they have been a nice blend of fantasy and sci-fi. Those descriptors are quite vague as well. But I think they do well to create such different worlds and lore for each game. And as someone above said, they are more steam punk fantasy.

[QUOTE="BigBoss255"]Which would you reccomend out of these: Enslaved, Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, Marvel vs Capcom, Bulletstorm, Dragon Age, Dead Rising 2. Those are all the big games I've missed in the last few months.

Depends on what you want. Action?, story?, quality?, length? etc Personally I found Dragon Age a big step down from KoTOR 1 and 2. The game itself wasn't as fun and the lore didn't interest me at all. The characters are great though to be fair. Never liked Dead Rising. MK if you want a fighting game (that is less frenetic and hectic than MvC), MvC if you want said frenetic and hectic gameplay. Haven't played Bulletstorm. Have played Enslaved and Portal 2 and while they are short, they are both fantastic games. I'd wait for some more opinions though, mine don't count for much.

I got the Fallout 3 CE which I don't regret. Although, I did get it for about $10 (NZD) but I quite like it. The artbook was really well made and quite cool to flick through, unlike the one from inFamous, which was literally 5 or 6 pages. The lunchbox is cool and makes for a good bookend for my games, and of course the bobblehead sits proudly in front of games. I don't like games that give DLC that much, especially RPGs. RPGs that try to make you overpowered from the start with special DLC are wrong in my opinion. I prefer physical things. But some DLC can be good, like the map packs you get in a new copy of Bad Company 2. Skins and powerups are pretty meh though imo.

I wouldn't call a 7.0 a bad score. But I think Mirror's Edge definitely deserved more. It tried something fresh and different and I think it pulled it off marvelously. Granted it isn't a perfect game, but more deserving than a 7.

It's the difference between an Adventure game and an Action game really. The former was a big thing in the PS2 era, the latter is a big thing in the current generation. And the former certainly makes for a better Harry Potter game. Though to be fair, the books sort of got less adventure-oriented and more action-oriented as they went along too. Still, the PS2 games were definitely the best. And Quidditch. That game was super fun.

Honestly, it would be a huge task to undertake. A developer would have a number of important things to work around, like water physics (and the actual look of the water), boat/ship physics, probably a living and changing economy, making ships fun to operate given their slow speed and long travel times (you can't just skip every time you set sail, or have a sea battle every time). Then there would be whether they would add layers of micro-management to it (ie crew and supplies/cargo). Multiple types of battles (ship vs ship, crew vs crew, both at the same time?, atttacking ports from sea, attacking places on foot etc).

There are other things too that I can't think of right now, but again, it would be a huge task.

However, if a dev could get everything right, whilst not skimping on content, and giving it a good polish, it would be one hell of a game.

edit: thought of a few more: finding a balance between swordplay and gunplay. And how it would work when the player with a sword comes up against enemies with guns. Also, an actual swashbuckling system instead of just slashing until someone goes dowm.
