@Jaga_Telesin Not to dispute the difficulty of the process, and I am sure there is still a ton of room for improvement. But how can you say that it fails at present when, from what I can gather, OnLive is being very successful at present?

Can't really think of many games that have evoked thought or challenged ideas, that I have played. However I felt Deus Ex: Human Revolution did a pretty great job of investing you in the Augmentation debate, I fould myself actually getting kinda frustrated at the civilians who said that it was horrible... this normally resulted in them getting knocked out :) I absolutely welcome more games which explore and challenge issues of faith and ethics because when it is done right, as I feel it was in DE:HR it has a powerful and positive effect on the overall experience.

Hmm... whilst I do enjoy Steam I am a Uni student and as such cheap. Whilst I love the specials that Steam has and my game collection has expanded significantly from them when a new release come out which I want I head over to Ozgmaeshop to get it at generally at least half retail. This is where my Issue with a retailer free world comes in, publishers having complete control over game pricing would significantly reduce my ability to buy new release games and this would make for a sad panda.

@booty56 If you check out the Elite website it currently supports Xbox Live and PSN with Steam coming in the future. One of the things that annoys me is that CoD made it acceptable to have a 5hr campaign

My largest issue with the R18+ debate is this. There appears to be this notion that with an R18+ rating all these horrible games depicting rape etc. will flood the Australian market and we shall thus be corrupted. Firstly, most games which have been banned are not THAT ultra violent and rape is rarely if ever an issue. Secondly, games will still face the classification board and thus can still be banned if they exceed what is deemed fit for the community (not that this should happen)

I personally like DRM, the other day I went to play CoD4 online and got told my key was in use... I don't like that. However if they think it will stp people pirating they're foolish. I wont deny I have had many pirated games in the past though I no longer use them, the only way to prevent piracy is by including extra features. EG. cool case, flashy looking manual and disks, maps etc. Make the gamer WANT to have a legit copy
