Yeah maybe because you are not the original trainer.
There is another way and i cant explain it fully right now. You will use a pc software, So you will trade munchlax to another person and then he/she will change the name for you.

someone here said a long time ago, draining your ds battery to the max shortens your battery life faster. For the 500 charges, after that the battery can only hold like 75% power and going down. My old original DS has a 3-4 hours battery life.
