In my opinion, it's really just a matter of preference... I honestly think that both consoles are about on par with each other (I play both pseudo-regularly), as far as graphics go. However, if you really want to get into which console is better fit for you, you have to consider more on what you as the player are focused on. Do you want a better frame rate (varies from game to game for both consoles, but I'm pretty sure the PS3 has the potential to be better)? A more comfortable controller (I think the Xbox 360 is slightly more comfortable; just my opinion)? Free internet (PS3, obviously, but the Xbox 360 has better connectivity and stuff)? If I were you, I would check out both consoles and decide for yourself instead of arguing with other people about it.
