Well I get it. The Conan review was fair, well writtenand appropriately scored. The Ratchet review was given to someone that doesn't really like platformers or the PS3, and obviously enjoyed giving a slap in the face to Sony fans. Some of hiscomments - such as "Variety is the spice of life, but there is such a thing as too much spice" and "This game has an identity crisis" are just plain surreal, and the review was poorly written overall, with critcisms that don't stand up and reek of personal bias.

"I can't see anyone at all taking this gamespot review seriously" - Well I can, just wait for the posts that say "Ha, Sony is doomed, Ratchet only got 7.5 it sux, PS3 has no good games blah blah" - and that's the problem, gamespot is deliberately feeding this perception with their bias. As I mentioned before I'm not even into games like Ratchet BUT, after playing the demo I was pretty amazed at the graphics and quality of animation. I can't think of another game that can match it in this way, look at the groovatron and all the attention to detail, younger gamers will really fall in love with it, and so they should. So anywayawell crafted gamewith high production values and lots of personality and appeal like ratchet should in no way get a 7.5, regardless of your personal preferences. I'm dissapointed because Gamespot used to be the best internet gaming site, hands down, and journalistic sites shouldn't have an agenda, as seems to be the case now.

So long gamespot - After this Ratchet and Clank fiasco I am finally buying into the conspiracy theory that Gamespot has a heavy bias towards the Xbox360. Yes the score is low for a AAA release and out of touch with other critics but what is more revealing is the fact that both Heavenly Sword and Ratchet and Clank were given to a reviewer with a history of reviewing sport games and giving low scores. I'm not a huge Ratchet fan myself, but I realise that this game is probably the PS3's biggest family friendly game heading into Christmas, and a review like this does effectively attempt tohurt Sony going into the holiday season. The last hotspot was bagging on Haze as well, and reminding everyone about how awful Lair was, I mean, WTF?? I used to think that the xbox fanboys that posted "ps3 suxors" on every news story were just immature kids, but now I can see how they are picking up on a sentiment that is coming from the top down. I don't think I'll be checking back for the gamespot reviews for Haze and Uncharted because I know what to expect already. I don't believe that reviewers are told to give games low scores, BUT, editorial bias is shown in terms of coverage, hype, and in particular what reviewers are given what game. As much as I like Jeff Gertzman, he almost seems a bit weary now as the lone defender of the PS3's potential in the podcasts and such. So anyway don't be fooled and keep your eyes open.

I will say no, I don't think it looks very good. It looks like they tried to make Gears of War crossed with Crash Bandicoot, just with an Indiana Jones theme. That'sOK, butit looks like it will be pretty frustrating. Whenever you see a stage demo, the people trying to demo the game end up dying A LOT. And they should be pretty good at the game, so it's a good sign it's going to be pretty punishing.

Okay here's the thing. I have a *** PS3 and PSP, and I recently downloaded crash bandicoot off the Australian PSN store. The game works fine on the PSP but won't run on my PS3, it comes up that the video mode is unsupported (PAL). If I downloaded a PSX game from the American or Japanese PSN it would probably work on both. The PS3 upscales games to 720p, but a NTSC PS3 can't upscale or run PAL games, so there you have it. I doubt they would fix this so it can work, look at what happenedto Lik-Sang. As it is I'm happy buying local PS3 games and importing *** PS1/PS2 games that I can't get here.
