@doctorstone89 I agree. 8.5 would be more reasonable based on the lack of serious flaws mentioned in the review and the fact that the reviewer seemed to enjoy himself even though he doesn't appear to be a fan of the series. I don't think anyone should be surprised that AC3 gets a positive review though; I'm sure the publisher paid handsomely for it.

Gamespot reviewers seem to rate games based on their personal preference rather than attempting any kind of objectivity. Not that I place much value on their ratings, but I wouldn't be surprised if they required payment or favours from the publisher to consider rating a game higher.

@nightbreed58 7.5 means the game is good but the publisher didn't pay enough for a higher rating.

@moghzu You've addressed the main issues while the 'associate lead designer' seems either utterly clueless about the reality of the situation or deliberately avoiding the real problems. If someone in a high-up position doesn't show some leadership and tackle these issues head-on, those falling numbers will only get worse.
