@xolivierx: I would have to disagree, you just begin at the beginning as you should. You will be able to buy everything in-game so this is a non-issue. Honestly you're better off not buying all these ships. A lot of the backers are doing themselves a disfavor as they're basically killing one of the biggest reasons to keep playing, to upgrade and get better stuff.

You can start with a low level ship and you'll still have a good time, there's little doubt about that. I've enjoyed my time playing the game, it's come a long way.

The ship buying happening now is voluntary and simply allows the devs to keep pushing the game tech farther, so I'm fine with them taking their time and making it nice.

@xbox360kb: Try actually reading bud, you can get the whole game for $45.

Man, what a letdown. I knew it was going to be a weak system but this is just...ridiculous. The controller is looking awful, once again.

Luckily there's a simple solution, don't buy "AAA" dev games.
