I'm a little disappointed. I've been able to replay every single Final Fantasy game multiple times over the years except for Final Fantasy XIII. One play-through was enough. It felt more like a linear, interactive anime movie than a true Final Fantasy game. I've always felt exploring was one of the great things about Final Fantasy games and XIII took that aspect away.

I know Square Enix has announced this game as being open-world but my gut instinct tells me I'll still be disappointed with the end product. I had strong hopes for Versus-XIII too but the massive amount of delays are telling me that it will also somehow fall short of expectations upon release.

The Final Fantasy XIII series really just needs to be killed off altogether so that Square Enix can focus on making a more "traditional" and "back to basics" Final Fantasy XV, one that will renew my hope in the series. Until then I'll happily replay all my older Final Fantasy games.

On a side note: I like Final Fantasy VII the way it is. I don't think Square Enix needs to do a remake of it or any other past Final Fantasy games. They simply need to use those games as a guide when making future Final Fantasy titles.

@tempertress that is true, however i still think the slender man is not as scary of a character as the creatures in amnesia, or penumbra for that matter.

i haven't played this game but after watching this and having played amnesia: the dark descent i can already say that amnesia is much scarier. hell, even penumbra is scarier. they also require more skill. the way these two ladies are playing slender there's no way they would have gotten past the "water horror" that lurks in the basement of the castle in amnesia.

still, it's good to see indie developers making games like amnesia and slender.
