Former Microsoft engineer blasts company for focusing to much on partnerships with "dying media companies."
How can you be a journalist and not know the difference between to, two, and too? I know it's a simple typo, if he knows the difference, but it makes me discredit his work.
We now know there are at least 24 million gamers making the game market riddled by gimmicky peripherals. I will NOT buy a 'Durango' if Kinect is required.
I believe the next generation is going to decide the fate of separate companies. If consoles are all using essentially the same specs and only have minimal, exclusive titles, what's the point of being in business? What will separate the companies are the extras they provide or promise to provide. All consoles have Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, etc. Their controllers, intuitive peripherals, multi-tasking capabilities, and loading screens will determine their worth to the public. I chose the 360 over the PS3 due to it's ridiculous load screen times. Controllers are essentially the same, just labeled differently. People don't buy consoles for ports, but that is all that is happening in the current and next generation systems. With all this said, unless you really have a great reason to not game on a PC, something is wrong with you to choose a console over the PC.
Micro-transactions are one of the worst gimmicks to make it to the video game media. The sad part is people will feed them the money to allow them to keep putting them in games. If no one bought anything, ever, from the already $60 game, then companies wouldn't even think about adding them. I absolutely hate EA and this just adds to the fuel. Visceral needs to end their contract and go their own way before they turn into Bioware.
I want the rumored Zapper for the WII to become a reality on launch date to play Red Steel with style. and to play Duck Hunt the same way as the NES version. J
