Do your PC, PS3 and X-Box have there IP's set to a specific IP address or do they get one when they connect to the router? If you have assigned them yourself one might be conflicting with the other on your network, ie the PS3 is trying to get IP 102 but your X-Box/PC is set to 102 so the router bounces back and forth between both trying to giving access to both, but can't give access to both at the same time.

If you have a thumb stick or PSP go to the sony website and download the FW from there. Follow the sites steps on putting the FW in the correct folders (should be PS3/UPDATES or something, check the site) and plug it into the USB port and boot it up the PS3. If you get to XMB bar select sytem update from the XMB and select the thumb stick. It should update.

But if I were you I would replace the HD with a new one first as it sounds like your HD is failing.

This happens with Uncharted 2 and Condemed 2 on my PS3.

1) Unplug ethernet cable.

2) Boot game.

3) When at the main menu plug ethernet cable back in.

4) You will be prompted about the update.

5) Confirm and your PS3 should exit the game and download the update properly now.

6) Try to enjoy the crummy port.

1) Microsoft does NOT own the Gears franchise. EPIC owns it and they have said it many times! Stop saying Microsoft owns it already!

2) Microsoft has an exclusive deal for the first two games. They have NEVER announced details about the third.

3) I speculate EPIC choose not to make the third exclusive because they knew the install base for the PS3 at the time was too small to justify the production costs. Now there are many more PS3's which makes the platform much more appealing to them.

4) Massive sales on the 360 PLUS sales on the PS3 MINUS piracy on the PS3 = A sh*t load more money for EPIC.

To the guys that said any Gears stuff would never appear on the PS3 because it would be illegal, you are wrong. Modders realeased several mods of Master Cheif, and Fenix on the PS3 version of UT3 and Microsoft said they are fine with it (likely because they have no legal way to stop it :P ).
