Got a question regarding the resolution to play games depending on inputs available on your TV.
I have a Mitsubishi CRT (2002 Model). I am able to watch HDTV via component cables from my HD Receiver to my TV. I DO NOT have HDMI, DVI or VGA inputs on my TV, only component inputs. I currently receive 480i, 480p, 720p & 1080i with my resolution & the HD channels (720p/1080i) along with DVD & progressive scan PS2 games (480p) look wonderful. I know that to take advantage of Blue-Ray, using regular A/V jacks is of no use at all. I would need to cables to convert HDMI to component cables to take advantage of any HD resolution. The only cable converters I have heard of/seen are HDMI to DVI or HDMI to VGA...
1. Is there such a cable converter as 'HDMI to Component Cables'?
2. If no, is it safe to say that if you have a HDTV that has only component cable inputs and does NOT have HDMI, DVI or VGA inputs, you CANNOT watch Blue-Ray in HD nor experience true PS3 in HD?
Thank you in advance for your help....
