I don't know about that. Far Cry 4 and AC Black Flag look pretty sweet on the PS3 and 360 which are nearing 10 years of age. Not as good as the PS4 or Xbone versions but they still look good. Could a $500 PC from 2006 run those games?

I'm just curious, the Alienware Alpha costs at least $100 more than the PS4 or Xbone. Will it still be able to run the latest games 6-7 years down the line like the PS4 and Xbone will?

Two things to compete with Sony and maybe overtake them: backwards compatibility and free Xbox Live Gold.

Game should've been in the 12-15 hour range without cutscenes. No buy from me until it hits the bargain bin.

PC games are cheaper but PC gaming is not. An Xbox 360 that cost $299-399 almost 10 years ago can still play most new releases (Far Cry 4, COD, Shadow of Mordor, etc). Not as well as a PS4 or Xbone but you can still play them. Could even a $1000 PC from 10 years ago with no upgrades play new releases today?

It's most like the PS3 as far as design goes by far. It has a major advantage though in that MS crapped the bed with the Xbone which is something they didn't do with the 360. The Wii U is crap as well and nothing like the Wii. In other words, the PS3 had major competition but the PS4 has little to none.

I thought the storage capacity of the cartridges was a big deal for developers. Could some of the RPGs on PS1 that were put on 3 cds been made on the N64? Doesn't seem like it. They were also more expensive.

Price. If i'm going to spend $500 on one I want it to be able to play the latest games for years to come with no upgrades. My 9 year old PS3 still plays games like Far Cry 4 just fine.

They make vastly underpowered consoles and try to sell them at ridiculous prices. Also, they completely alienated all 3rd party developers and tried to take video gaming towards gimmick land with the Wii.
