This type of micromanaging, which it smacks of, has a chilling effect on the industry. Visionary developers need to be careful whom they align themselves with as their ideas become may become highly profitable intellectual property that can be taken away at anytime.

If we can manage to invent the toilet and save most of the world from deadly infectious diseases then I think we can manage women fighting in the military just fine. And for your information evolution does not occur in thousands of years. It takes millions of years for evolution to change anything. In this cases evolution has nothing to do with it. It all comes down to choice. The only soldier you need next to you in a foxhole is a good one. Gender does not matter when you are under fire.

For one thing women have been fighting alongside men during the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns it just was not publicized very much because of the rules on the books at the time. Just a month ago the Pentagon established new rules allowing women to legally fight in the same capacity as men. It was a landmark announcement. Of course in countries like Israel for instance women have had the same fighting responsibilities as men. Whatever study you cited regarding mens response to an injured women is very flawed and based purely on socialization. In time all things will come to pass.

I think a reboot is a great idea. However the open world concept is not really all that new. I think they need to go back and beef up the horror and story aspects that made this series classic. Re 5 and 6 focused too much on trying to be all things to all players i.e. action, co op, emo hair styles and dialogue bordering on childish. They need to craft an amazing core story (RE2 was my personal fave) and then apply some innovative ideas that center around bringing the horror back. RE is a game that used to make the hair stand up on the back of my neck. Now its just action dreck.

Virtually every industrialized country in the world has access to violent video games and they don't have the gun violence problem. The majority of gun violence in America goes on in the inner cities and poor neighborhoods that do not have access to political representation. It seems that only when the violence happens in affluent communities that the powers that be start howling for the blood of popular culture. These are tone deaf individuals who really have no idea what they are speaking about.
