I am not changing my PSP 2000 yet, but if the PSP 3000 becomes the standard I may end up getting it, its great to have the mic integrated into the device rather than to need to get the headset accessory specially with skype; and the new lcd screen adds some value too. But for me there's no rush to get it. But if I get PSP 3000 later, please don't come with PSP 4000 in less than a year.

I am definitely going to get this one since I did not get the previous version, but I was concerned about this " The new headset/video-out port isn't compatible with older PSP headsets.", then what kind of headsets will be compatible for this version? I have checked Amazon for this release a lot of times and there aren't any kind of accessories specific for this new PSP, like new headsets or that kind of stuff. Any help?

I like it, its cool that you can be playing anywhere and when you come home you can plug it into your TV and continue playing, at a good output video resolution. The TV video output and the increase of the built in memory are good features for this "PSP Lite" Version.
