Totally, totally agree. I bought Assassin's Creed 3 at full price and played it for no more than an hour or two before giving up on it. I realized the lack of immersion on a mission where there was a snow storm going on, with no ambient wind noise at all.

Black Flag is much better, but still suffers from some of the same problems.

I have bought early access games before that I haven't been happy with, but never for a game where I had fun with the finished product, either.
