It might not have had a fantastic story, or rivetting plot, but it's perfect for what it needed to be. It's a near perfect execution of a multi-super hero action flick, and people really enjoy it. What's so bad about that?

This is obvious. It's just a mathematicl convention to say that 0.999 = 1 to simplify calculation.
Today kids arer eading and writing more than they ever have. Even though it might not be classical reading, they still develop the same literary/cognitive skils with texting, facebook, etc. People seem to think that reading can only be acceptable when it's printed on a few hundred pages.

Sorry for using FoxPropagandaRacistRepublicanNews

Stopped reading there, let me guess this is all "BIG BROTHER"'s fault and the government is wrong since it is President Obama and not Bush, Republicans are the biggest hypocrites on Earth.
I do not care if you apologize I do not accept it. Linking the Fox article shows either lack of will to find a credible non propaganda source or that you view Faux News. I mean how hard is it to spare us the ignorance if you do view fox by googling the story and getting another source.
Also nice job to make it hate of Faux look ridiculous by squishing all the words together.
However if we seperate each it is clear that every category you list can be backed up with various instances.
Do you work with them or something? You seem to be going out of your way to validate them as a source.
This is probably the funniest thing I've read today.
[QUOTE="-Renegade"]They didn't calculate leap years so we should have been dead 7 months ago. :D I guess we all died and this is afterlife! Awesome! The Mayans were right.
trastamad03
That's not necessarily true. The leap days were added to our calendar to make our years LIKE the years indicated by the mayan calendar. That is 365 days each year. So in actuality, we are still pretty closely on track to the Mayan calendar.
Unless I am missing something, the only thing required to over-come this issue is to get both a side and front image of the individual. Not really worth taking them down when the fix is as simple as that....
When is there ever a NECESSARY book to movie adaptation? It's all purely for entertainment. If you don't like it don't watch it.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say here.
[QUOTE="dackchaar"]Watch RedLetterMedia's review of it. He made the closest thing to a perfect critique of that movie and why it's terrible. He also addressed the whole "the movie is for kids" excuse. His argument was that if it's supposed to be a kid's movie then why is nearly half of the movie devoted entirely to talk about the politics of a trade dispute? Anyway, I won't be seeing Phantom Menace. Every time I watch it's even worse than I remember it being the previous time. I'm sure the slapped-on 3D will be pretty terrible as well considering there's only so much you can do to a 2D movie to create a 3D version of it. If the 3D trailer (which was itself in 3D) was any indication then the 3D in the movie is extremely minimal to the point of almost being unnoticeable.I will be seeing it, as I know one of the actors in the film. I don't see why there is so much hate for Phantom Menace. It's a kid's movie, and it's a pretty awesome one at that.

I've watched all the redlettermedia reviews. I really think they are hilarious. Phantom Menace no doubt has it's faults, but it's still a good movie for many reasons.
Also I find it hilarious that people automatically believe that post-converted 3D is horrible. They obviously show no knowledge to the process, and are just spewing out crap they've heard from likewise individuals. Post-coverted 3D can be just as good as a movie shot in 3D originally. It comes down to the talent of the artists. It has gotten a bad name by a few poorly converted films (Clash of the Titans), but has improved dramatically in the few years that 3D has become the norm for films.
This conversion of Star Wars has been pastakingly wached over by the legendary visual effects artists who originally worked on the project (John Knoll, Dennis Muren) and has THE best 3D post conversion facility working on it. It will be nearly identical to being originally shot in 3D.
I will be seeing it, as I know one of the actors in the film. I don't see why there is so much hate for Phantom Menace. It's a kid's movie, and it's a pretty awesome one at that.
