With the amount of nonsense that Michael Pachter has predicted over GTA V, I'm not taking anything this guy says seriously.

@demonkingx5 mario and zelda have more titles, even if it has been over a longer duration of time. God of war has 6 titles, milked to a certain degree yes, but hardly 'milked' in comparison to Mario which has beyond 20 titles, and to be honest it's tiring.

@Balanceless @GSJones1994 Yes COD and Assassin's creed are seeing yearly releases, and personally I can't stand them, but in comparison to Mario these franchises are very young. And GSJones1994, I can't fully agree with your statement that 'Nintendo have been so damn good for so damn long'. When it comes to portable gaming I think they've been phenomenal. The DS and 3DS have been great platforms and I enjoy them, but when it comes to home platforms it feels quite the opposite.

When Nintendo released the WiiU, stating it was a 'next gen' console. Everybody, including Nintendo themselves, knew it was simply the Wii HD. The idea that WiiU is the start of the next gen consoles is a joke, Wii has simply updated itself and to be honest I think Nintendo would have been better off developing their new console for even longer and releasing a PS4/Xbox 720 equivalent machine in 2014. It's quite sad really as Nintendo have been a household name, but they do need to pick up their game.

@JumpyLuweegee I agree completely.

I feel like it's on par with Call of Duty.

To be brutally honest, Nintendo need some fresh ideas. They can't keep pulling out the Mario card when they need a sales boost, sure it works, but personally I'm sick of it. I've heard some of my friends say "what the hell mario is the best!" and I've played some of the games and I didn't really enjoy them. I feel like Nintendo are constantly reusing the same characters cause they know they'll sell well to the fanboys.

This line of the article is pretty self explanatory: 'Also in development for the Wii U are new Mario Kart, Zelda, Smash Bros., and Yoshi games.'

Mario Kart and Smash Bros? Again? Sure a new roster might be nice, but for example I haven't bought any Tekken games since Tekken 4, it all seems the same to me.

I feel that Nintendo really need some new releases that delve away from Mario, Luigi, Wario etc. We're not seeing Ratchet & Clank or Halo releases every year, are we?
