You can just run a system repair and that will make it work!Daytona_178
Okay Thanks, do you think that is what you do have to do for it to work? Or are you 100% positive?

Hi Guys,

Recently I bought a new CPU (Q8200) for my motherboard for a nessessary upgrade (I know that this CPU is 100% compatible with my Asus P5K-E/WiFi-AP after I flash my BIOs to the latest BIOs).

But in a recent disscussion with a friend of mine I told him that I had just purchased a CPU from Intel called the Q8200, he told me that I would have to reinstall Windows Vista 64-Bit after the upgrade in order for it to pick up the new CPU.

I told him that I think he is wrong and that this isn't what you have to do (simply because I have built two computers in the past and I know that the CPU doesn't require drivers because the operating system takes the information about the CPU from the BIOs on boot-up)

Decided to revisit the Gamespot Hardware forum for an answer and see what you guys think.

Thanks in Advance

-Christopher.

Buy something like this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CORE2QUAD-Q6600-500GB-9800GTX-512MB-4GB-DDR2-RAM-PC_W0QQitemZ330258242630QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330258242630&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1318

something that isnt branded because the branded PCs; Acer, Packard Bell and Alienware you are paying for the brand and not really the spec.

Right so why didn't you say that it is overall a better preformer than the GTX 280 insted of saying it is tied?

If you have that much money find a good guide off the internet buy your own parts and build your own. It would be twice as good as one that you would buy prebuild for that price.
